Astros optioned C Juan Centeno to Triple-A Fresno.

All the 27-year-old did was homer in each of his first two starts for the Astros, but with Brian McCann set to return from the disabled list there was no need to carry a third catcher. He'll continue to provide depth at Triple-A.

Devon Travis had a monster day at the plate on Friday, going 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in a 7-6 victory over the Rangers.

Travis got the Blue Jays on the board with a grand slam off of A.J. Griffin in the second inning. He wound up finishing the night just a triple shy of the cycle. After a miserable start to the season, Travis' bat has heated up substantially in recent weeks and he's now hitting .252/.287/.439 with four homers, 19 RBI and four stolen bases on the season.

Jed Lowrie stayed hot in Friday’s win 4-1 win over the Yankees by going 3-for-4 with an RBI single.

Lowrie had two singles and a double. He broke a scoreless tie with a single off Tyler Clippard in the eighth. The 33-year-old has hit safely in seven straight games, including five multi-hit games. He’s batting .310/.376/.500 with six homers through 46 games on the year and deserves more attention in mixed fantasy leagues.

Sean Manaea was handed a no-decision despite spinning seven scoreless frames against the Yankees on Friday.

It was his longest outing of the season. Manaea was outstanding against a tough lineup, allowing just four hits (three of them singles) while walking one and striking out eight. It was even more impressive when you consider that he was moved up on short notice with Kendall Graveman (shoulder) landing on the disabled list. The southpaw has loads of talent and is worth trusting again in mixed leagues.
May 26 - 11:00 PM

Masahiro Tanaka struck out a career-high 13 batters Friday against the Athletics, but took the loss after allowing one run in 7 1/3 innings.

That’s more like it. Tanaka held the Athletics scoreless through seven innings before giving up a one-out single to Adam Rosales in the eighth. Tyler Clippard took over from there and allowed the inherited runner to score, putting Tanaka in position for the loss. It was a tough luck situation, but the Yankees and fantasy owners should feel very good about this performance. Tanaka gave up just five hits in all while walking none and inducing 25 swings and misses in his 111 pitches. He’ll try to build off this one when he faces the Orioles on the road next week.

Kendrys Morales clobbered his ninth home run of the season on Friday as the Blue Jays outlasted the Rangers.

His solo shot in the fifth inning increased the Jays' advantage to 6-3. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-4. With the two-hit attack, he's now hitting .250/.300/.452 with nine homers and 26 RBI on the year.
May 26 - 11:00 PM

Stephen Vogt socked a two-run homer Friday against the Yankees.

His ninth-inning blast off Jonathan Holder provided the A’s with some valuable late insurance. Vogt has been a disappointment on the whole this season, but he has perked up at the plate over the past few days. He’s batting .304 (7-for-23) with two homers, a double, six RBI, and six walks over his last seven games
May 26 - 10:59 PM

Aaron Hicks went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Friday versus the Athletics.

Hicks scored the only run of the game for the Yankees after drawing a leadoff walk in the ninth. The 27-year-old has been excellent when called upon this season, batting .292/.429/.566 with eight home runs, 20 RBI, and six steals through 35 games. He’ll be a regular with Jacoby Ellsbury (concussion) on the disabled list and and needs to be owned in most fantasy formats.
