Kyle Schwarber ended up 3-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 16-5 win in Colorado.

Schwarber is finally healthy and he is doing a good job, slashing .283/.406/.566. Of course, a lot of the damage has come in the past two games at Coors Field, as Schwarber is 5-for-8 with a homer and six RBI. Power has never been a problem for the left-handed hitting outfield, but batting average has been the issue. If he can do much better than his career .223 batting average he is going to exceed his ADP by miles.

Jean Segura went 3-for-5 with two RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases in a 6-2 win over the Rangers on Friday.

His ninth-inning double plated two runs and broke open a tie game. The steals give him three for the season. He has a .303 batting average with one homer, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored in 79 plate appearances.
Apr 21 - 12:48 AM

Javier Baez ended up going 4-for-6 with a double, two-run home run, two runs scored and four RBI in Friday's 16-5 rout of the Rockies in Coors Field.

Baez has 20 RBI through the team's first 17 games. He is the first Cubs player to post 20 or more RBI through the team's first 17 games of a season since Billy Williams (25) in 1970. He has posted 16 RBI over the past eight outings. He'll try to keep up the good work on Saturday against Tyler Anderson (0-0, 4.74 ERA).
Apr 21 - 12:45 AM

Mitch Haniger went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Rangers on Friday.

He tied up the game with a solo dinger off reliever Chris Martin in the eighth inning. The young outfielder now owns a .290 batting average with five home runs and 17 RBI on the season. Only Jed Lowrie, Bryce Harper and Preston Tucker have more RBI.
Apr 21 - 12:44 AM

Felix Hernandez turned in 5 1/3 innings while allowing two runs in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Friday.

He sailed through the first five frames unscathed before faltering in the sixth. He allowed two runs in that inning on a double, a single and hit batsman before being relieved. Hernandez allowed four hits total and two walks while striking out five in his day's work. He is 2-2 with a 5.06 ERA through five starts.
Apr 21 - 12:40 AM

Albert Almora finished 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI and four runs scored in Friday's 16-5 win at Colorado.

The four-hit night was the first of Almora's career, and he is now slashing an impressive .325/.372/.525. He is 9-for-18 (.500) with nine runs scored, two doubles and a home run with three RBI over his past six outings. Almora doesn't start regularly, so fantasy owners in mixed play will want to be careful, but he could start playing a lot more frequently if he keeps hitting this well.
Apr 21 - 12:39 AM

Nomar Mazara went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's loss to the Mariners.

He plated Shin-Soo Choo with a single in the sixth inning, then scored on a Ronald Guzman fielder's choice grounder. Mazara has a .301 batting average but hasn't found his power stroke yet. Just three of his 22 hits have gone for extra bases.
Apr 21 - 12:35 AM

Keone Kela coughed up three runs in the ninth inning to take a loss against the Mariners on Friday.

He came in to pitch the ninth inning of a tie game. The only out he got came on a sacrifice bunt. The other three batters he faced all got hits, including a double by Jean Segura that brought home the winning runs. The bad outing likely won't cost Kela his job as closer because these were the first runs he's allowed this year. He is 2-1 with two saves and a 4.76 ERA in 5 2/3 innings.
