Lions placed CB Quandre Diggs on injured reserve with a torn pectoral, ending his season.

The slot corner was injured in Week 13. Diggs was in the midst of a rough season. Coming off major injury, Diggs' 53-man roster spot probably won't be assured in 2017, though he'll definitely have a leg up.

Lions placed DE Armonty Bryant on injured reserve, ending his season.

His injury is unclear. A situational pass rusher, Bryant had just come off suspension in Week 13. Going on 27, Bryant is headed to free agency. Now injured, Bryant served both substance-abuse and PED bans this season. In other words, his market isn't going to be hot in March.

The Lions will not activate TE Brandon Pettigrew (knee) from the reserve/PUP list.

Pettigrew is still slightly less than a year removed from tearing his left ACL. A Lion since going with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2009 draft, Pettigrew is signed for $4.35 million next season. He obviously won't see that. Pettigrew turns 32 in February. He could have a hard time finding a new home if the Lions pass on a pay cut and release him outright.
Dec 6 - 2:52 PM

Lions signed RB Joique Bell.

It's an indication Dwayne Washington (ankle) will miss Week 14. Completely washed, Bell is unlikely to see a carry behind Theo Riddick and Zach Zenner.
Dec 6 - 2:50 PM

With his indefinite suspension under appeal, Cowboys DE Randy Gregory is expected to resume practicing with the team on Wednesday.

It's highly unlikely Gregory will be activated for Week 14, but the team is at least giving him a chance to get some reps in. If/when Gregory's next ban is upheld, he'll be suspended for at least one year.
Dec 6 - 2:16 PM

Lions signed CB Asa Jackson off the Ravens' practice squad.

Jackson was a longtime reserve in Baltimore. He's a roster filler after the Lions lost Quandre Diggs for the season.
Dec 6 - 1:55 PM

Colin Kaepernick will be the 49ers' Week 14 starter at quarterback.

The 49ers benched Kaepernick in the midst of a ludicrously bad Week 13 performance in the snow, but are wisely giving him another shot against the Jets. Kap's play had been on an upward trajectory before last week's catastrophic setback, and though it can sound like damning with faint praise, Kap has been a clear improvement on Blaine Gabbert. Regardless, the fantasy calculus has changed. Kap should now be considered at risk of in-game benchings, rendering him a risk/reward QB2 instead of the low-end QB1 he had been performing as.
Dec 6 - 1:21 PM

Panthers MLB Luke Kuechly (concussion) will be evaluated Wednesday to see if he can resume practicing.

He's missed the Panthers' last two games with a concussion. With Carolina headed nowhere this year, there's no need to rush Kuechly back, especially given his history of concussions. A.J. Klein has been filling in for Kuechly at middle linebacker.
