Diamondbacks recalled OF Socrates Brito from Triple-A Reno.

Brito will give the Diamondbacks much-needed outfield depth with A.J. Pollock (thumb) and Steven Souza (pectoral) both sidelined. Brito could see regular playing time for a stretch, but his profile doesn't equate to much fantasy upside.

Diamondbacks placed OF Steven Souza on the 10-day disabled list with a right pectoral strain.

It's the same injury that cost Souza the first five weeks of the season, and this could very well be another extended absence. Key injuries continue to pile up for the Diamondbacks, who have recalled outfielder Socrates Brito in a corresponding 25-man roster move.

Rays manager Kevin Cash noted Tuesday that Willy Adames will only be up for 2-3 days.

Adames is simply filling in for Joey Wendle, who was placed on the paternity leave list Tuesday. Adames is a big-time talent and he will start at shortstop and bat fifth Tuesday against the Red Sox, but he's probably not worth serious consideration in standard redraft leagues quite yet.
May 22 - 4:17 PM

Ryan Madson (pectoral) made 25 throws at 50 percent effort on Tuesday.

It's a good sign that Madson has already resumed throwing just two days after being placed on the disabled list with a pectoral strain. It's obviously not too severe of an injury. He should be ready to return to the Nationals' bullpen sometime in early June.

Giants recalled LHP Josh Osich from Triple-A Sacramento.

Osich will be available out of the Giants' bullpen on Tuesday night against the Astros. He has allowed nine runs in 10 innings this season at the MLB level.
May 22 - 4:12 PM

Giants placed RHP Jose Valdez on the 10-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.

Valdez had allowed seven earned runs in five innings since his promotion from Triple-A Sacramento on May 10. Josh Osich will take his spot in the Giants' bullpen.
May 22 - 4:11 PM

Delino DeShields is out of the Rangers' starting lineup Tuesday night against the Yankees.

DeShields is batting just .095 with a .383 OPS over his last 51 plate appearances. Ryan Rua will start in center field and hit ninth Tuesday versus Yankees right-hander Domingo German.
May 22 - 4:09 PM

Madison Bumgarner (finger) threw a successful simulated game on Tuesday.

As long as he responds well to the workout, the ace left-hander should be cleared to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Sacramento. He's expected to make around three rehab starts before joining the Giants' rotation around the middle of June. Bumgarner has been out all year with a fractured left pinkie.
