Nicholas Castellanos went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's X Padres.

Castellanos knotted up the score at 5-5 with his two-run homer off Jordan Zimmermann in the sixth inning. This was his first home run since he went deep against the Red Sox on June 11. He is up to nine homers for the year. While the 25-year-old third baseman looks to be on his way to his third consecutive season of at least 15 homers, he has had his struggles in terms of average and is hitting just .237/.306/.421 overall.

Wil Myers went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.

Myers smashed a solo home run off Jordan Zimmermann in the second inning, his 15th homer of the season. He is up to 39 RBI for the campaign and owns a .261/.332/.482 triple-slash overall. That batting line matches pretty well with the .259/.336/.461 line he posted during his breakout 2016 season.
Jun 25 - 8:34 PM

Erick Aybar went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.

Aybar hit homer No. 6 on the season when he led off the second inning with a solo blast against Jordan Zimmermann. He is now over halfway home to matching the career-high 10 dingers he bopped in 2011, when he was with the Angels. Despite this bit of pop, the veteran infielder is hitting just .222/.293/.356 in 65 games overall.
Jun 25 - 8:33 PM

Jordan Zimmermann allowed five runs on six hits over four innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Zimmermann walked three, struck out five and surrendered a pair of home run in the unsettled outing, with Wil Myers and Erick Aybar cracking solo shots in the first and second innings, respectively. This outing is made all the more disappointing by the fact that Zimmermann had allowed just five runs in his last two starts (covering 14 2/3 frames) before hitting a wall against the Padres on Sunday. He will carry a 5.53 ERA and 1.49 WHIP into a home start against the Indians next time he takes to the mound.
Jun 25 - 8:28 PM

Clayton Richard surrendered five runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.

Richard surrendered a pair of leads in this one, blowing a 3-0 advantage when he allowed three runs in the fourth inning and coughing up a 5-3 lead when he yielded a game-tying two-run homer to Nick Castellanos in the sixth inning. He struck out three and walked two in the lackluster outing. Richard will bring a 4.42 ERA and 1.44 WHIP into a home start against the smoking-hot Dodgers next time he toes the rubber.
Jun 25 - 8:28 PM

Daniel Descalso hit a walk-off RBI single in the 11th inning of Sunday's 2-1 win over the Phillies.

Descalso came through an RBI single off Edubray Ramos -- who had recorded the first two outs of the inning before getting himself into trouble -- to walk it off for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the 11th. He also doubled in the contest. Despite turning in a hero's day at the office on Sunday, the veteran outfielder is hitting just .216/.319/.388 in 143 at-bats this season.
Jun 25 - 8:26 PM

Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with an RBI single and a run scored in Sunday's 11-inning win over the Phillies.

Goldschmidt hit an RBI single in the second inning to give the Diamondbacks a 1-0 lead. The score would hold right there until the seventh inning, when Howie Kendrick came up with an RBI knock of his own to tie the game. Daniel Descalso would ultimately win it for the Diamondbacks with an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th. For his part, Goldy is now working to a beautiful .333/.448/.611 triple-slash with 18 homers, 65 RBI and 13 steals in 274 at-bats.
Jun 25 - 8:20 PM

Howie Kendrick went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit RBI single in Sunday's 11-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.

Kendrick did not start the contest -- he is dealing with hamstring tightness -- but did come on to pinch hit in the seventh inning, when he hit an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. The veteran second baseman has appeared in just 32 games this season due to various roadblocks on the health front.
