Giants recalled RHP Jean Machi from Triple-A Fresno.

Machi has a 1.74 ERA in nine games with the Giants this season. The 31-year-old will provide bullpen depth in the middle innings.
May 18 - 1:44 PM

Giants optioned 1B Brett Pill to Triple-A Fresno.

Pill was called up earlier this week and went 2-for-5 with two doubles in Friday's loss to the Rockies. He'll return to a .341/.380/.675 batting line, nine home runs and 47 RBI in 32 games in the minors.
May 18 - 1:39 PM

Orioles transferred Brian Roberts (hamstring) from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

It's just a procedural move to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. Roberts underwent surgery last Thursday to repair a ruptured tendon in his right knee and is expected to be sidelined for at least the next six weeks.
May 18 - 1:37 PM

Orioles placed OF Nolan Reimold on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 12, with a right hamstring strain.

It's the reason why Reimold was held out of the Orioles' lineup for the fifth straight day Saturday. Chris Dickerson will likely get the majority of starts at designated hitter in his absence. Given his injury history, Reimold could be looking at an extended stay on the DL.
May 18 - 1:32 PM

Reds recalled 1B Neftali Soto from Triple-A Louisville.

Soto, 24, has shown good power potential over his seven-year minor league career and will provide corner infield depth. He was batting .269/.310/.388 with three home runs in 33 games at the Triple-A level.
May 18 - 1:23 PM

Reds optioned LHP Tony Cingrani to Triple-A Louisville.

The Reds need to clear a rotation spot with Johnny Cueto returning from the disabled list Monday, so Cingrani will officially be sent down. He was mostly impressive over his first six major league starts, posting a 3.27 ERA, nine walks and 41 strikeouts over 33 innings. Neftali Soto has been called up to replace Cingrani on the active roster, while Mike Leake will remain the Reds' fifth starter.
May 18 - 1:15 PM

Orioles recalled RHP Jake Arrieta from Triple-A Norfolk.

Arrieta was scheduled to start for the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate, but will instead be called up as a reliever for Saturday's game. It's possible Arrieta could be an option for a spot start Monday for Freddy Garca. The 27-year-old has a 6.63 ERA over 12 innings (four starts) at the major league level this season.
May 18 - 1:08 PM

Orioles optioned RHP Alex Burnett to Triple-A Norfolk.

Burnett lasted just three days on the Orioles' roster. He'll return to a 1.50 ERA in the minors.
