Jonathan LuCroy is not in the Rangers starting lineup on Saturday.

It's just a routine day of rest for the hard-hitting backstop. Robinson Chirinos is starting in his place and batting cleanup.

Stephen Piscotty is away from the Cardinals tending to a personal matter.

Piscotty left the team on Friday, which is why he wasn't in the lineup against the Rockies. The Cardinals do not know how long he'll be away, but it seems likely that he'll miss the remainder of the weekend series.

Athletics recalled RHP Jharel Cotton from Triple-A Nashville.

He'll start for the A's on Saturday against the Yankees in New York. Cotton has pitched well since his demotion to Triple-A, but registered a troublesome 5.68 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 35/16 K/BB ratio across 38 innings in his seven starts with the A's earlier this season.
May 27 - 8:08 AM

Athletics placed RHP Jesse Hahn on the 10-day disabled list with a right triceps strain.

Hahn was injured during Tuesday's start against the Marlins, but was able to avoid significant injury. An MRI on his ailing triceps came back negative, but he'll still need to be shut down for a few days. Jharel Cotton was recalled from Triple-A to start in his place on Saturday.

Yasmany Tomas (hip) returned to the Diamondbacks' starting lineup on Friday, going 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout in an extra-inning victory over the Brewers.

Tomas was a late scratch from Wednesday's lineup due to the issue. It doesn't sound like the injury should be much of a hindrance moving forward, so it's safe to get the Diamondbacks' slugger back into fantasy lineups.

Melky Cabrera blasted a three-run homer on Friday, powering the White Sox to an 8-2 victory over the visiting Tigers.

Cabrera's three-run shot in the eighth inning capped off the scoring in the ballgame. He also added an RBI single in the sixth inning, finishing the night 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and four RBI. For the season, the veteran outfielder is hitting .251/.301/.357 with four homers and 25 RBI.
May 27 - 2:58 AM

Avisail Garcia went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI as the White Sox topped the Tigers in their series-opener in Chicago on Friday.

Garcia got the White Sox on the board, delivering a bases-clearing three-run double in the third inning. He's in the midst of an outstanding season, slashing a robust .341/.385/.576 with eight homers and 37 RBI.
May 27 - 2:55 AM

Matt Davidson clubbed his ninth home run of the season in Friday's victory over the Tigers.

Davidson blasted a solo homer off of Blaine Hardy in the sixth inning, increasing the White Sox' advantage to 4-2. He also singled, finishing the night 2-for-4. He has been a nice addition to the lineup this season, slashing .257/.305/.541 with nine homers and 24 RBI.
