Tanner Roark yielded one run on four hits over seven innings while taking a no-decision in Saturday's win over the Marlins.

Roark struck out five and walked two on the evening. Brian Anderson burned him for an RBI single in the fourth inning, but otherwise, the Marlins were unable to touch the scoreboard while he was on the mound. This season, the veteran right-hander has pitched to a respectable 3.17 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 58/19 K/BB ratio across 10 starts covering 65 1/3 innings. He'll be hitting the road to take on the Braves in an interdivisional showdown next time out.

Jose Martinez went 3-for-4 and drove in a run during Saturday's 4-1 win over the Pirates.

He smacked a liner to center to drive in Yairo Munoz in the third inning then got nailed at second trying to stretch the single into a double. Martinez may be an atrocious fielder but there is no doubt about his hitting skill. He has a .316 batting average with five home runs and 31 RBI in 202 plate appearances.

Wei-Yin Chen allowed one run on three hits over 7 1/3 innings while taking a no-decision in Saturday's loss to the Nationals.

Chen struck out six and walked one in the strong outing. The only run to score while he was on the mound came in the eighth inning, when Wilmer Difo knocked him out of the contest via a solo game-tying home run. While Chen's overall marks -- a 5.22 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP -- do little to inspire, he's pitched well of late, having surrendered just three runs on 11 hits over 17 innings combined in his last three starts. He'll try to keep the good vibes going in a road date with the Padres next time he takes to the mound.
May 26 - 7:48 PM

Matt Carpenter went 2-for-5 and snapped a solo home run during Saturday's win over the Pirates.

He led off the game with a solo shot against Pirates starter Trevor Williams. Carpenter was perhaps the worst hitter in baseball for the season's first month and a half but has been on fire the last 10 days or so. He's finally above the Mendoza line and streaking higher. He has a .206/.321/.387 slash line with five homers and 18 RBI on the season.

C.J. Cron - DH - Rays

C.J. Cron went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Orioles.

With one run already having crossed the plate in the second, Cron came through with a two-run double off Andrew Cashner to boost the Rays to a 5-0 advantage. They would sail through the rest of the contest without issue. After a hot April in which he cracked seven home runs and drove in 19 runs, Cron's cooled off in May, but not to a severe degree. Comparing the slash-lines, he hit .281/.327/.552 with the seven home runs and 19 RBI across 23 contests for the month of April, while entering action on Saturday, he was working to a .261/.327/.432 triple slash with four home runs and nine RBI in 22 May games with about a week remaining in the month.
May 26 - 7:40 PM

Bud Norris tossed a three-up, three-down ninth inning to earn a save against the Pirates on Saturday.

He got the first two batters to pop out and then whiffed Gregory Polanco for the final out of the ballgame. He now has 10 saves with a 2.59 ERA on the season. He has a firm grip on the Cardinals' closer job with rookie Jordan Hicks providing his only distant competition.
May 26 - 7:37 PM

Wilson Ramos went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in Saturday's win over the Orioles.

Ramos came up with an RBI double off Andrew Cashner in the first inning, his sixth two-bagger of the campaign. He was clipped by a foul ball on his left hand this past Tuesday, but after receiving a day off, has come back without apparent physical issue. The backstop is slashing .305/.344/.464 with six home runs and 25 RBI over the course of 151 at-bats this season. He's posted multi-hit efforts in two of his last three games.
May 26 - 7:36 PM

Jack Flaherty yielded just one run over six innings to earn a win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Starling Marte touched him up for a solo tater but that was the only blemish on his afternoon. He struck out four batters while allowing four hits and two walks in the quality start. He improves to 2-1 with a 2.15 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in five starts. The rookie has an excellent 31:9 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 29 1/3 innings.
