Coach Chuck Pagano stated Monday that the Colts will play their starters in Week 17 against the Titans, despite the fact that they can't improve or hinder their playoff seeding much.

Pagano, understandably, believes the Colts "need to build some steam" entering the postseason after Sunday's 42-7 loss to Dallas. Indianapolis is locked into either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed in the AFC. They've obviously locked up the AFC South, but can't get a first-round bye. Andrew Luck & Co. will be in play for fantasy leagues still going on in Week 17, and in DFS formats.

Dwayne Allen underwent a Monday MRI on his knee.

The Colts are calling him "day to day." Allen missed two games earlier this season with an ankle injury. His Week 17 status is up in the air.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano said Monday he expects T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) to return for Week 17 against the Titans.

The Colts are still in a position where they can't move much in the AFC playoff standings -- they're either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed, and can't clinch a first-round bye -- so they shouldn't play Hilton if he isn't at exactly 100 percent. They do likely want to enter the postseason playing well, and Hilton has carried the Indianapolis passing game throughout this year.

The Browns will give starter's reps this week to UDFA Connor Shaw.

Shaw hasn't even been formally promoted off the practice squad yet, but likely will be on Tuesday. Johnny Manziel (hamstring) is done for the year, and Brian Hoyer is nursing a bum shoulder. The Browns may have to sign a free agent off the scrap heap to "compete" with Shawn in practice. Get ready to fire up the Ravens' fantasy defense if you're playing DFS in Week 17.

Johnny Manziel (hamstring) is done for the season, Browns coach Mike Pettine announced Monday.

It ends a highly disappointing first NFL season for Manziel, who failed to beat out career journeyman backup Brian Hoyer in training camp and fell flat on his face when given late-season opportunities to play. Manziel's arm is average, and he looses all semblance of zip when he doesn't deliver passes with proper technique. He is also not close to being an even passable pocket quarterback. Barring dramatic offseason improvement, we don't see Manziel as particularly likely to open 2015 as the Browns' starter.

NFL suspended Lions C Dominic Raiola one game for stomping on Bears DT Ego Ferguson in Sunday's win over Chicago.

It sounds like he'll just lose one game and one game check for the clearly-dirty move, which was caught on video. Raiola has the right to appeal, but being available for the playoffs should remain his top priority. He could still appeal in an attempt to delay the one-game suspension until next season. Raiola deserves to miss Week 17, and he should know it. He ought to accept this.

Drew Stanton (knee) is expected to practice "some" in Week 17, but won't start against the 49ers.

The Cardinals have already announced they'll be going with rookie Logan Thomas for the regular-season finale. Their aim with Stanton is getting him ready for the Wild Card round. The early signs suggest he will be able to go.
Dec 22 - 3:23 PM

The Cowboys plan to play their starters in Sunday's game against the Redskins.

In theory, the Cowboys are still in the mix for a first-round bye, but they would need a series of inexplicable events to unfold. That means that, for all intents and purposes, they're locked into the No. 3 seed and don't have a ton to play for against Washington. We wouldn't be surprised if Tony Romo played only 2-3 quarters, and if DeMarco Murray (hand) was limited even further.
