Russell Martin homered and drove home three runs on Saturday as the Blue Jays rallied from a four-run deficit to beat the Red Sox 10-9 on Saturday.

Martin blasted his homer off Rick Porcello in the sixth inning, pulling the Jays to within three runs at 7-4. He added an RBI single as part of a four-run uprising to tie the game in the eighth inning. His biggest contribution came with two-outs in the ninth inning, where his RBI double plated the tying run off Craig Kimbrel. Martin then came around to score the winning run on a single by Devon Travis. He finished the afternoon 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI, raising his season slash to .194/.260/.273 to go along with three homers and 14 RBI.

Marcus Stroman was hit hard in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Saturday, allowing seven runs on 11 hits over 5 1/3 innings of work.

The right-hander punched out five while walking one on the afternoon. He made it through the first three innings unscathed, but the Red Sox offense woke up the second time through the order. Xander Bogaerts and Travis Shaw each blasted home runs as part of the damage against Stroman. He'll look to improve upon a 4.46 ERA and 1.25 WHIP when he does battle against these same Red Sox in Boston on Friday.

David Ortiz clubbed a solo home run to give his club the lead in the ninth inning on Saturday, but it would prove to be futile in a loss to the Blue Jays.

The Red Sox led the majority of the game, but gave up the lead when the Jays rallied for four runs in the eighth. Papi made sure to right the ship quickly, tagging Gavin Floyd for his 13th homer of the season with one out in the ninth inning. Ortiz also doubled in the contest, finishing the afternoon 2-for-5. He is having another outstanding season at the dish, slashing .339/.420/.720 with 13 long balls and 46 RBI.

Rick Porcello struggled in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday, surrendering four runs on seven hits over his 6 2/3 innings.

The right-hander racked up five strikeouts on the afternoon while walking just one. The Jays scratched out three runs against him in the third inning, but Porcello was able to bear down and keep them off the board after that until a Russell Martin solo shot in the sixth. He'll carry a 3.68 ERA and 1.10 WHIP into Thursday's start against the Orioles in Baltimore.

White Sox and Padres are reportedly engaged in trade talks surrounding RHP James Shields.

According to sources, these talks have "energy" and could lead to the right-hander moving to the Midwest to help the White Sox's starting rotation. Shields knows the AL Central well, pitching for the Royals in 2013 and 2014, but has seen his stuff decline the past two years. His 3.06 ERA is likely attractive to the White Sox; however, his velocity is down and his 3.88 FIP suggests he's more of a mid-rotation starter than an impact arm at this point in his career.

Salvador Perez suffered a quad contusion after a scary collision with third baseman Cheslor Cuthbert on Saturday.

It's unclear if Perez will avoid a trip to the disabled list, but this is nonetheless promising news for the Royals, as it appeared in real-time that the 26-year-old catcher suffered a significant knee injury. Now it's just a matter of determining the length of his absence. Perez is hitting .277/.313/.494 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 176 plate appearances in 2016.

Pirates optioned LHP Kyle Lobstein to Triple-A Indianapolis.

With Tony Watson returning from the paternity list, Lobstein returns to Triple-A. The 26-year-old southpaw has struggled at the big-league level this year, compiling a 4.79 ERA with a 14/10 K/BB in 20.2 innings.
