Brandon Crawford is not in Monday's lineup against the Athletics.
There's no word of any injury, so Crawford is presumably getting a day of rest. Ramiro Pena will start at shortstop.
Rangers manager Jeff Banister said that Jurickson Profar will likely play first base Tuesday against Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia.
Profar was out of the lineup Monday for the eighth time in the past 11 games. Banister intends to have him play "three or four" times per week, but he clarified that this estimate doesn't necessarily include starts. Profar continues to produce when he gets the opportunity, but the lack of playing time makes it difficult to rely on him in mixed fantasy leagues right now.
Brayan Peña (knee) is expected to be activated from the disabled list on Tuesday.
Peña batted .192 (10-for-52) over 14 games during his minor league rehab assignment and has already rejoined the Cardinals in Kansas City. He's been out all season after undergoing surgery in early April to remove loose cartilage from his left knee.
Yunel Escobar (knee) remained out of the Angels' lineup Monday against the Astros.
Escobar has now missed four straight games. He was diagnosed with a bone bruise following an MRI and it's unclear when he'll be ready to return to action. Jefry Marte is filling in at third base again Monday.
Phillies prospect left-hander Matt Imhof suffered a "significant injury to his right eye" during a freak training accident last week.
The news was confirmed by Imhof's agent, Adam Karon. Imhof, the Phillies' second-round pick from 2014, was going through his routine stretching regimen after a game when a piece of equipment malfunctioned and he was struck in the eye. The 22-year-old has undergone surgery and is likely to require further procedures. The injury could be career-threatening.
Juan Lagares (thumb) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Binghamton.
He's expected to be joined by the newly-signed Jose Reyes, who will move up from Low-A Brooklyn on Tuesday. Lagares has been sidelined since June 14 with a sprained left thumb and still hopes to avoid surgery.
Travis Shaw is not in Monday's lineup versus the Rays.
He's just getting a day of rest. Marco Hernandez will start in his place at third base and bat ninth against rookie lefty Blake Snell.
Clay Buchholz will make his next turn in the rotation Saturday versus the Angels.
The Red Sox have an off-day on Thursday, but they won't skip him in the rotation. Buchholz has allowed seven runs in 10 1/3 innings over two starts since returning to the rotation. He's not a fantasy option at this time.
