Adrian Gonzalez will start in right field Tuesday night against the Orioles.

May 22 - 3:38 PM

Jordan Schafer (leg) is back in Tuesday's lineup against the Cubs.

Schafer sat out the previous two games with a lower leg muscle strain. He'll bat eighth and play center field Tuesday while Jose Altuve and Jed Lowrie occupy the top two spots in the lineup. Justin Maxwell will start in right field and bat third against the left-hander Travis Wood.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post speculates that Ramon Hernandez (hand) could soon end up on the disabled list.

Hernandez has dealt with a nagging injury to his left hand for most of the year and it's apparently not getting any better. The 36-year-old backstop has just one hit in his last 22 at-bats, so it's not like he's helping at the plate right now. Wilin Rosario would get a boost in playing time and fantasy value if Hernandez requires a stint on the disabled list.
May 22 - 3:33 PM

Carlos Pena will bat leadoff Tuesday night against the Blue Jays.

This is his first ever start of the leadoff spot. Pena is hitless over his last five games and is now batting just .209 on the year, so Rays manager Joe Maddon is clearly hoping to get him back to the basics of taking pitches and having quality at-bats.
May 22 - 3:25 PM

Chipper Jones (calf) is out of the Braves' starting lineup for the fourth straight game Tuesday.

Jones has developed a blister/welt on top of his left calf contusion, so he's unlikely to return to action before Wednesday or Thursday. Juan Francisco, who homered on Monday, will get another start in his place at the hot corner.
May 22 - 3:10 PM

Andres Torres is not in Tuesday's lineup.

Just a day of rest for Torres, who is hitting just .058 (2-for-34) over his last 10 games. Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in his place in center field and bat second while Mike Baxter plays left and bats leadoff.
May 22 - 3:08 PM

White Sox placed 3B Brent Morel on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 18, with a lumbar back strain.

As expected. Morel's lower back failed to respond to a cortisone shot earlier this month, so the White Sox hope an extended absence will do the trick. The 25-year-old ended last season with some momentum, but he's batting just .177/.225/.195 with zero homers and a miserable 39/7 K/BB ratio across 125 plate appearances this year. The newly-signed Orlando Hudson will fill in for him at the hot corner.
May 22 - 3:05 PM

White Sox signed INF Orlando Hudson to a one-year contract.

We learned over the weekend that the White Sox were poised to sign Hudson, but the deal is finally official. The 34-year-old is expected to play third base with Brent Morel (back) sidelined and should also back up Gordon Beckham at second base. He was batting just .211/.260/.317 with five triples and 11 RBI prior to his release from the Padres last week, so we aren't expecting much, but he's worth adding in AL-only leagues.
