Alcides Escobar finished 0-for-4 in the Royals' loss to the Indians on Sunday.

Escobar is now batting just .172/.201/.226 in 49 games this season, and yet he again batted leadoff for manager Ned Yost on Sunday. The speedy shortstop has also yet to steal a base in 2017.

Danny Duffy was blasted for six earned runs over just four innings Sunday in the Royals' blowout loss to the Indians.

Duffy yielded nine hits and walked three batters in the ugly outing at Progressive Field against the defending American League champions. He fell to 4-4 on the season but still holds a decent 3.54 ERA even after Sunday's drubbing. Duffy will try to get back on track in his next start, a rematch against the Tribe at Kauffman Stadium.

Elvis Andrus went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored Sunday in the Rangers' 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

The stolen base was his 10th of the season and he's sporting a decent .278/.321/.434 batting line with 27 runs scored in 50 games this season for the Rangers. Andrus batted second on Sunday for the 24th time in 2017. It has become his regular lineup spot.
May 28 - 4:10 PM

Matt Bush nailed down his sixth save of the season Sunday in the Rangers' defeat of the Blue Jays.

Bush surrendered a pair of two-out singles, but he got Troy Tulowitzki to ground out to shortstop to end the game and seal a 3-1 victory for Texas. Bush holds a dominant 1.02 ERA and 21/5 K/BB ratio in 17 2/3 innings this season and he hasn't blown a save since taking over as the Rangers' closer.
May 28 - 4:06 PM

Kendrys Morales finished 0-for-3 with a walk in the Blue Jays' loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

Morales is batting just .247 with a .303 on-base percentage in 46 games this season for Toronto, though he has produced a .448 slugging percentage and nine home runs. A little more consistency would be nice.
May 28 - 4:04 PM

Andrew Cashner delivered seven innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Rangers' win over the Blue Jays.

Cashner gave up a run on a sac fly to Jose Bautista in the bottom of the first inning, but the 30-year-old right-hander posted zeros from there. He only struck out two but also yielded just five hits over seven efficient innings. Cashner now holds a shiny 2.92 ERA in 52 1/3 innings this season, though his 23/27 K/BB ratio shows that he really hasn't been that dominant. A tough matchup against the rival Astros is next.
May 28 - 4:04 PM

Joe Biagini limited the Rangers to two runs over six innings Sunday in a loss.

Biagini did his part, striking out seven batters and issuing only one walk over six strong innings, but Toronto's offense was only able to manage one run of support in the afternoon loss at Rogers Centre. Biagini now holds a sharp 3.64 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 37/9 K/BB ratio in 42 innings (five starts, 14 relief appearances) this season for the Blue Jays. He'll get the Yankees at home next.
May 28 - 4:03 PM

Reds acquired INF/OF Darnell Sweeney from the Dodgers for future considerations.

The dynamic 26-year-old was re-acquired by the Dodgers over the offseason in the Howie Kendrick trade. He hit just .227/.290/.412 with four homers, 15 RBI and seven stolen bases in 38 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
