Brandon Morrow (shoulder) will not make his scheduled rehab start on Thursday.

He's going to visit Dr. Heinz Hoenecke in San Diego instead. Morrow allowed two runs over 2 1/3 innings last Saturday at Triple-A El Paso and came out of the appearance with more shoulder discomfort. The right-hander has been out since early May and might have to be written off for the rest of the 2015 season.

MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reports that there's a possibility of Yovani Gallardo being traded to the Blue Jays.

Texas just beefed up its rotation with the Cole Hamels trade, but the club is still buried in the American League Wild Card race and could sell some parts. Gallardo is due to become a free agent this winter. If the price is right, it sounds like the Rangers will move him.

Rafael Montero (shoulder) had some stiffness after his latest throwing session and is expected to see a doctor.

It's not clear if this is routine discomfort or a more serious setback. Montero was recently shifted from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list, though that doesn't necessarily affect his timetable.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Thursday that he will ease Travis d'Arnaud (elbow) into action.

The 26-year-old catcher rejoined the Mets on Thursday morning after missing a month with a left elbow sprain, but he won't be officially activated until Friday. Kevin Plawecki is starting behind the plate against the Padres on Thursday afternoon at Citi Field.

Jordan Walden (biceps) made an early exit from his rehab outing Wednesday in Memphis due to heat.

It was a scorcher in southwest Tennessee, so the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds only had Walden throw two-thirds of an inning. The good news is that his arm is feeling fine and he is already scheduled to make another rehab appearance Friday. Walden, who's been out since late April with a biceps strain, should be cleared to return to the Cardinals' bullpen by early next week.

Cardinals acquired 1B/OF Brandon Moss from the Indians for LHP Rob Kaminsky.

Moss has struggled to produce consistent numbers offensively since developing a hip injury last summer and there hasn't been much indication that he's going to turn it around. The 31-year-old does have some pop and he does fit the Cardinals' need for a corner outfield and first base type with Matt Holliday (quad) back on the shelf, but Kaminsky is no small price. Moss, who's under contractual control through 2016, will likely split time between first base and left field in St. Louis.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that Tyson Ross is drawing "intense interest" from many.

Heyman suspects that the Astros may be at the forefront, though he also ties in the Blue Jays, Cubs, Dodgers, and "many, many others." Ross, 28, owns a 3.03 ERA and 332 strikeouts in 323 1/3 innings since the beginning of the 2014 season and he is under contract through 2017. Everybody loves a good, cost-controlled starting pitcher.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, MLB executives are "absolutely convinced" that Tigers lefty David Price is going to wind up with the Dodgers.

Nightengale suspects that Los Angeles will fork over top pitching prospect Julio Urias to get it done. Price is also drawing heavy interest from the Yankees, Giants, and Blue Jays, but the Dodgers have the young talent to beat all the other suitors. And they'll be a good bet to lock Price up long term once they have him in their grasp.
