Andrew Cashner gave up just two runs over six innings but took the loss against the Brewers on Tuesday.
Cashner was actually fortunate to get out with just two runs allowed, as he yielded eight hits and walked four over his six innings of work. Cashner also struck out five in the outing. Even with the decent showing, the loss dropped Cashner to 4-11 with a 4.08 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. He's got a good shot at getting his fifth win Sunday against the Phillies.
Marcus Semien went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Orioles.
Semien broke the game open in the sixth inning, hitting his three-run shot to left-center off of reliever Chaz Roe to send the Athletics' lead to 5-0. It's his second home run in four games, but he's been mediocre offensively overall, batting .245/.292/.382 with 10 home runs and 26 RBI.

He'll toe the rubber at home against the Astros in his next start.

The dinger was the first for Gomez since being dealt to the Astros as the deadline. He's hitting .348 with four RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base through five games in the American League. Gomez should continue to produce good numbers in the middle of the Astros lineup going forward.
Shawn Tolleson worked out of a jam against the Astros on Tuesday to earn his 20th save of the season.
Tolleson surrendered a leadoff walk and gave up a single to put two runners on with nobody out, but he bounced back to record a groundout and a strikeout before fanning Jose Altuve to end the game. The first-time closer owns a shiny 2.98 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 51/10 K/BB ratio over 48 1/3 innings this year.
