Derek Holland scattered four hits in six scoreless innings on Saturday against the Angels, picking up his third win of the year.

It’s been a balancing act all year for the lefty. He tossed six scoreless and walked no one, yet only struck out one and gave up a ton of fly balls. That maps onto his 2.48 ERA and 5.59 K/9 this year, and he’s really benefiting from a .227 BABIP, which is almost 70-points lower than his career average. In other words, Holland was good in Saturday’s win and he’s only allowed five earned runs in his last 24 innings, but everything about his profile screams heavy regression. He’ll try to continue to outrun that statistical inevitability in a tough road matchup against the Blue Jays in his next scheduled start.

The Reds will promote Tim Adleman from Triple-A Louisville ahead of Sunday's game against the Pirates.

He'll be making his major league debut in place of Raisel Iglesias, who is out with a shoulder injury. Adleman was scratched from Saturday's start in preparation for Sunday. The 28-year-old is 2-0 this year with a 4.24 ERA in three starts for Louisville.

Matt Shoemaker experienced The Bad Start on Saturday against the Rangers, getting torched for seven runs on a whopping nine hits in just 2 1/3 innings.

Shoemaker gave up hits to seven of the eight batters he faced in the bottom of the third inning, finally getting replaced after Mitch Moreland launched a three-run shot to right field and the red-hot Elvis Andrus immediately followed with a double. The 29-year-old picked up his fourth loss of the young season, and the fantasy darling that posted a 3.04 ERA in 2014 now feels like a completely different person. He owns a 9.15 ERA in 20 2/3 innings, while his walk rate now sits at 4.35 BB/9. It’s ugly all around. Should he get another start, Shoemaker will face off against the Rays at home next Friday.

David Phelps got the closing nod with A.J. Ramos unavailable in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Brewers and navigated an uneventful inning to pick up his first save since 2014.

Phelps has been a high-leverage reliever for the Marlins, so it's not surprising to see him get the opportunity to close over Kyle Barraclough. The right-hander rewarded manager Don Mattingly's trust with a perfect ninth inning. As with many former starters who transition to the bullpen, he's seen his velocity and strikeout rates spike. The 29-year-old has 16 strikeouts in 15 innings and now owns a 1.20 ERA.

Jose Abreu went 2-for-5 with two RBI, including the game-winner in the ninth, as the White Sox outlasted the Orioles 8-7 on Saturday.

Abreu had an RBI single in the eighth to help the Sox stage a comeback, and it was his two-out RBI hit in the ninth that gave them the win. Abreu's sluggish start had some concerned, but the first baseman has multi-hit games in four of his last five contests to raise his average to .229. The power is still notably absent -- he's hit just three homers, and none since April 19 -- but there's no reason for alarm just yet, especially in light of the recent improvements.

Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) has been scratched from Sunday's start against the Pirates.

The Reds weren't taking any chances after Iglesias said he felt a "pinch" in his throwing shoulder on Friday. As expected, the Reds will call up Tim Adleman from Triple-A Louisville to start in his place. For now it looks like Iglesias will only have to miss one start, but we wouldn't totally rule out a trip to the disabled list. He's been dealing with shoulder issues on and off since September.

Hernan Perez launched a two-out, two-run home run as a pinch hitter in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

He made his second appearance of the campaign on Saturday and supplied his club with fleeting hope with his pinch-hit homer in the seventh inning off lefty Craig Breslow. He's only with the big-league club due to an injury to Scooter Gennett (oblique) and isn't currently worth owning in any fantasy format.

Hyun-soo Kim finished 3-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's loss to the White Sox.

Kim doubled among his three hits, his first extra-base hit of the season. The 28-year-old famously refused to accept an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk at the end of spring, and he's certainly doing everything in his power to prove it was the right decision for both he and the O's. Through Saturday's game, Kim is 9-for-15 and should draw some more playing time, even in a crowded Orioles outfield, given his early success.
