Coach Jay Gruden confirmed Colt McCoy will start Week 13 against the Colts, and Robert Griffin III has been benched.

Gruden said he believed McCoy deserved a promotion. The Redskins likely would have won last week in San Francisco had McCoy been under center. McCoy won't be a recommended fantasy option, though he could rack up garbage-time numbers as a QB2 on Sunday in Indianapolis. DeSean Jackson remains a WR2 with big-play upside. Alfred Morris's stock may take the biggest hit, as he's always had more success running the ball with RGIII under center.

Odell Beckham (back) is practicing in full for Week 13.

Beckham took a knee to the back last Sunday night and missed one play before returning. He admitted he was sore Monday, but his status for Week 13 against the Jaguars was never in doubt. This confirms it. Beckham will be a borderline WR1/2 against Jacksonville's burnable secondary on Sunday.

The Rams are expected to activate LE Chris Long (ankle) from I.R./recall in time for Week 13 against the Raiders.

Long has been out since hurting his left ankle in the season opener. His 21-day window to be activated closes next week. William Hayes and Eugene Sims have been filling in opposite RE Robert Quinn. While Hayes has been nails against the run, he and Sims haven't been getting to the quarterback. Long's reinsertion into the lineup will be a boost to a defense already on the rise.

Coach Gus Bradley called out Blake Bortles, saying "We expect more."

"He can play better," Bradley said. "At times, he holds the ball a little too long. His decision-making isn’t as quick as we need it to be. He’s young, but we expect more." Bortles has been a turnover and sack-taking machine with 15 interceptions and 27 sacks absorbed across nine games and eight starts. The line is part to blame, but Bortles also holds onto the ball too long. Losing Allen Robinson (foot) doesn't help, either, as OC Jedd Fisch took the air out of the ball in Week 12. The Jaguars will hope for some signs of progress the next five weeks.

Coach Ron Rivera praised CB Josh Norman, saying "He's come a long way from Day 1."

Norman (6-foot, 195) has been a training camp superstar since being drafted in 2012, but he'd never been able to translate it to games. It's coming together in 2014, as Norman is a top-27 corner at Pro Football Focus since taking over as a full-time player in Week 8. Quarterbacks have a 49.6 passer rating throwing at Norman the past four games. He's a building block in Carolina's secondary.

Vikings placed RT Phil Loadholt on injured reserve with a torn pectoral, ending his season.

Loadholt, 29 in January, had missed just two starts since being the 54th pick in the 2009 draft. A mauling run blocker at 6-foot-8 and 343 pounds, Loadholt wasn't having his best season. Mike Harris will take over on Teddy Bridgewater's right side. J'Marcus Webb was signed to be the swing tackle. Loadholt has two years left on a four-year, $25 million deal. He should be back in 2015.

Bears WLB Lance Briggs (groin) is expected to miss "a few weeks."

Briggs got hurt in a collision with Mike Evans last Sunday. Rookie Christian Jones is expected to take over on the weak-side. It's a big loss to an already-bad Chicago run defense, as Briggs has graded out as a top-four 4-3 outside linebacker against the run at Pro Football Focus. Briggs, 34, is in the final year of his contract. It's fair to wonder if he's played his final snap as a Bear.

The Jets have benched Michael Vick in favor of Geno Smith for Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Coach Rex Ryan reportedly had no say in the matter, as this was a decision from the higher-ups, aka GM John Idzik. Ryan's merely coaching out the season with his hands tied behind his back, though it doesn't really matter who's at quarterback. Both Vick and Smith are terrible, with Vick looking disinterested at times. The Dolphins should blow the Jets out of the building Monday night.
