Ben Zobrist (wrist) has returned to the Cubs' lineup Monday against the Padres.

Zobrist missed back-to-back games over the weekend after tweaking his left wrist during Friday's game, but he's feeling better now. He'll hit leadoff and start in right field while Jason Heyward will play center. Miguel Montero will start behind the plate and catch Kyle Hendricks.

Seth Lugo (elbow) will make another rehab start.

Lugo, who is coming back from a partial tear of his UCL, allowed three runs over six innings Sunday in his latest rehab start with Double-A Binghamton. The Mets intend to bring him back as a starter, which likely means Robert Gsellman being pulled from the rotation.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Monday that Steven Matz (elbow) will make one more rehab start.

The same goes for Seth Lugo, who is making his way back from an elbow injury. Matz was brilliant in his latest start Sunday with Triple-A Las Vegas, striking out eight batters over five perfect innings. However, the Mets want him to get stretched out to 90 pitches before making his return. Matz has been out all season with a flexor strain, but he could provide a huge boost to this rotation if he's right.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Monday that the club hopes Yoenis Cespedes (quad, hamstring) will be ready in 7-10 days.

Cespedes originally landed on the disabled list in late April with a left hamstring injury, but he was held out of a rehab game over the weekend with right quad soreness. Fortunately, it doesn't sound like a major concern right now. The Mets are hoping Cespedes will be able to DH when the club squares off against the Rangers next week.

Cubs recalled RHP Justin Grimm from Triple-A Iowa.

Grimm has posted a rough 7.53 ERA over 13 appearances with the Cubs this season. He'll pitch in a middle relief capacity.
May 29 - 1:22 PM

Cubs optioned RHP Felix Pena to Triple-A Iowa.

Pena has allowed four runs (three earned) in eight innings with a 9/4 K/BB ratio this season. Justin Grimm will take his spot in the Cubs' bullpen.
May 29 - 1:21 PM

Nationals optioned LHP Matt Grace to Triple-A Syracuse.

The move clears a spot for Stephen Drew's return from the disabled list. Grace owns a 4.05 ERA over seven appearances with the Nats this season and should get another shot at some point soon.
May 29 - 1:19 PM

Nationals activated INF Stephen Drew from the 10-day disabled list.

Drew is finally back to full health after suffering a right hamstring strain on April 11. The veteran infielder will return to a utility role.
