Bucs DE William Gholston (ankle) was not on the final injury report.

Gholston reportedly was in a boot and on crutches after last week's game because of a sprained ankle, but he has apparently made a miraculous recovery. He will be good to go against the Saints.

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Julio Jones will be "a decoy at best" Week 14 against the Rams.

Ledbetter is doubling down on his Friday report that Jones will not play. Coach Dan Quinn said Friday he "anticipates" Jones will be active, but Ledbetter says he is "calling coach's bluff." Playing in an afternoon kick and potentially limited to decoy status, Jones looks way too risky to trust in the first week of the fantasy playoffs. Owners should find other options.

Giants activated Shane Vereen (triceps) off injured reserve.

The transaction is not yet official, but it is expected to come "barring anything unforeseen" during Saturday's practice. Vereen is also expected to be active Sunday night against the Cowboys, but his role is questionable in an already jumbled backfield. Vereen is a fine stash in PPR leagues, but he is too risky to trust in the first week of the playoffs. Vereen's presence makes Rashad Jennings an even lower floor RB3.

The Record's Art Stapleton reports Giants LG Justin Pugh (knee, questionable) is not expected to play Week 14 against the Cowboys.

Pugh has been sidelined since Week 9, but there was some hope he would return after getting in three limited practices this week. Stapleton reports the Giants are holding him back to avoid another setback. It sounds like he should be ready for Week 15. Marshall Newhouse should get the start at left guard.

Fox Sports' Mike Lombardi said the Browns will "go hard after" Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason.

Lombardi has worked for both organizations recently, so this is likely not just idle chatter. "I think Cleveland understands, Hue Jackson specifically understands he needs a quarterback. I think they’ll be very aggressive," Lombardi said. "I think Jimmy Garoppolo’s on top of their list, and I think they’ll go hard after him." With Tom Brady showing no signs of slowing down and Garoppolo set to be a free agent in 2018, it makes sense for the Patriots to move the young quarterback this offseason. The Browns have the picks to make a big move if Garoppolo is really their guy. Even though this is a weak draft class for quarterbacks, there could be quite a few interesting options available in free agency and on the trade block this spring.
Dec 10 - 9:24 AM

Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said Charles Sims (knee, injured reserve) will be activated "sooner than later."

It is an interesting phrasing considering Koetter said on Monday Sims would be back on the roster this week. If that was true, he would need to be activated very "sooner," as in by Saturday afternoon. It once looked like a lock Sims would be back this week, but now there is a bit of drama. The good news is his status will be known by Saturday evening at the latest.
Dec 10 - 9:18 AM

49ers signed TE Vance McDonald to a five-year, $35 million extension with $16 million guaranteed.

The deal locks up McDonald through 2021. Turning 27 next June, McDonald has enjoyed a mini-breakout season in Chip Kelly's offense, parlaying 24 catches into 391 yards with four touchdowns and averaging 16.3 yards per reception. Long prone to dropped passes, McDonald has dropped only three balls this year and has always possessed adequate blocking ability. McDonald played a season-high 91 percent of the 49ers' snaps in Week 13.
Dec 9 - 9:27 PM

C.J. Prosise (shoulder) will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Prosise is likely out the rest of the regular season but could be back for the playoffs. Thomas Rawls will remain an every-down back until Prosise returns.
