Andrew Cashner was charged with four runs -- three earned -- across 6 1/3 frames in Monday's loss to the Mariners.

Cashner was cruising along through five innings, but the M's got to him with three hits and four runs in the sixth, which included a two-run homer by Kyle Seager that put Seattle up for good. The hard-throwing righty allowed exactly three earned runs in each of his four starts in May, and he sports a disappointing 32/19 K/BB over 47 frames on the year. Cashner gets the Rockies at home this weekend.

Astros optioned 3B Colin Moran to Triple-A Fresno.

Moran batted just .105 (2-for-19) with two RBI and a 6/1 K/BB ratio during his first stint in the majors. Carlos Gomez is expected to be activated from the disabled list on Tuesday and will take his place on the active roster.

Kyle Seager smacked a two-run homer and scored a couple runs in Monday's win over the Padres.

Seager's shot off of Andrew Cashner in the sixth inning put the Mariners ahead for good. He also drew a pair of walks, reaching base three times in four trips to the plate. Although this was his first home run in a couple weeks, Seager has batted .343/.393/.569 this month.

Christian Bethancourt went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Mariners.

Bethancourt drew the start in the designated hitter spot and batted seventh -- one spot ahead of catcher Derek Norris. He's sporting a sub-.300 on-base percentage, but Bethancourt has out-produced Norris with a .267 average and .500 slugging percentage.

Red Sox prospect first baseman Sam Travis was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee.

Previous reports suggested an injury to the ACL and it's now confirmed. It's a tough break for Travis, who will require season-ending surgery. The expectation is that he'll be ready for the start of 2017. The 22-year-old was teammates at Indiana with Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber, who suffered the same injury back in April.
May 30 - 7:19 PM

Kendall Graveman limited the Twins to two runs over six innings in Monday's 3-2 victory.

He gave up six hits, walked three and recorded five strikeouts along the way. It had been over a month since Graveman picked up a victory, and April 20 was also the date of his last quality start before Monday. He'll look to keep it going this weekend in Houston.
May 30 - 7:06 PM

The Twins will recall Byron Buxton from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

He'll take the roster spot of Danny Santana, who left Monday's game with a hamstring strain. Buxton owns a .195/.239/.316 batting line over 187 plate appearances in the majors, but the tools are obvious and it's easy to forget that he's just 22 years old. For what it's worth, he came into Monday's action hitting .333/.402/.605 with six homers and four steals over 28 games since his demotion to Triple-A. That includes 11 walks and 25 strikeouts. It hasn't clicked for him so far in the majors, but he's still very exciting for the long-term.
May 30 - 7:05 PM

Twins placed INF/OF Danny Santana on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Santana injured his left hamstring during Monday's game and will require an extended absence. The Twins will call up Byron Buxton to take his place on the active roster.
