Panthers QBs coach Ken Dorsey interviewed for the Bills' vacant offensive coordinator position.

Dorsey flamed out in the NFL after a successful college career quarterbacking Miami's juggernauts in the early-2000s, but he has earned a name for himself as a position coach in four seasons with the Panthers. Coach Sean McDermott obviously knows Dorsey from their time together in Carolina, and he seems like the only real candidate for the job at this point.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey said Marcus Mariota (broken leg) is "on track" and "doing great."

"He should be back when we get this thing rolling," Mularkey added. It is not clear if things get "rolling" in OTAs or training camp, but there is no doubt Mariota will be ready for Week 1. Coming off a breakout season, Mariota should be able to take another step forward in 2017 if the Titans can surround him with one or two more weapons.

Free agent WLB Chad Greenway said he will not play for any team other than the Vikings.

Greenway played this season under the impression it would be his last, but he has yet to make a final decision. Greenway said he will meet with GM Rick Spielman and coach Mike Zimmer this week, and that meeting could push him toward retirement if it is clear the Vikings do not want him back. The former first-round pick has likely played his final snap in the NFL.

Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports there "doesn't appear to be any substance" to reports the Bills are interested in Packers QBs coach Alex Van Pelt for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

The Bills' search for a coordinator has gone nowhere so far, and it looks like Van Pelt is a dead end as well. After Greg Olson took a job with the Rams, the only real candidate right now is Panthers QBs coach Ken Dorsey, who was interviewed on Wednesday.

New Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said Melvin Gordon's game is "growing like a weed."

"He’s very dynamic," Lynn said. "He took his game to another level, and we’re going to help him take it even further." Lynn wants to run a "balanced" offense, which is not surprising considering his history as a running backs coach. Lynn has been involved in seven 1,000-yard seasons in his 14 years as an RBs coach or offensive coordinator including LeSean McCoy's 1,267-yard effort in 2016. Gordon should see as much work as he can handle moving forward.

Former Bills DC Dennis Thurman will interview for the Redskins' vacant defensive coordinator position.

Thurman was let go when the Bills brought in new coach Sean McDermott, but he might not be on the street for long. Thurman presumably did not take on the full responsibilities of running a defense under Rex Ryan in New York and Buffalo, but his Jets defenses did have reasonable success. He fits right in with the likes of Mike Pettine, Rob Ryan, Jason Tarver, and Greg Manusky, who the Redskins have also interviewed.

Andrew Luck underwent surgery on his troublesome right (throwing) shoulder following the season.

The news comes from owner Jim Irsay, who had previously said Luck would not need surgery to fix the issue which has "lingered since 2015." Luck did not miss any games, but he was consistently limited in practice. Getting it fixed properly seems like the right call, although it likely will force Luck to miss most of the offseason program and perhaps some of training camp. Irsay did say Luck "will be ready" for Week 1.

Geronimo Allison (hamstring) said he sat out Wednesday's practice "for precautionary reasons."

However, Allison did not commit to returning to practice on Thursday, and there is at least mild concern about his Week 20 availability. The Packers are dealing with injuries to three of their top-four receivers, also including Jordy Nelson (ribs) and Davante Adams (ankle). We'll have updates on Thursday.
