Lewis Brinson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

Brinson burned Brent Suter for a three-run home run in the second inning. He struck out in his other three at-bats on the evening, however. The 23-year-old outfielder has largely struggled this season and owns a .157/.203/.286 triple-slash in 19 games played. If you're searching for a small bright spot in this dim open to the campaign, three of Brinson's four home runs on the year have come over his last three games.

Derek Dietrich went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

Dietrich went yard against Brent Suter in the first inning, but was unable to find a hit the rest of the way through the contest. As we near April's end, the outfielder is slashing .261/.316/.364 with two home runs and six RBI across 20 games played.
Apr 21 - 11:05 PM

Brent Suter surrendered five runs on eight hits over five innings while taking a no-decision in Saturday's win over the Marlins.

Suter had issues keeping the ball in the park on Saturday, especially early on, as he coughed up a solo home run to Derek Dietrich in the first inning and a three-run home run to Lewis Brinson in the second inning. The Marlins would add one more in the fifth inning before Suter called it a night. Through five starts this season, the 28-year-old southpaw has now pitched to a cringe-inducing 5.68 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. He'll try to inch those numbers down in a road date with the Cubs next time he takes to the rubber.
Apr 21 - 11:02 PM

Jose Urena surrendered four runs on four hits over five innings while taking a no-decision in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

Urena struck out three and walked two on the evening. Travis Shaw burned him for a solo home run in the second inning, while two more runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth inning. The hard-throwing right-hander has now allowed at least four runs in three of five starts this season. He'll carry a bloated 5.88 ERA and 1.33 WHIP into a home showdown with the Rockies next time out.
Apr 21 - 10:55 PM

Ender Inciarte went 2-for-5 with a game-winning RBI drag bunt and a stolen base against the Mets on Saturday.

Inciarte played inconsistently for most of the game, picking up steal No. 7 on the year, while also committing a fielding error and once being caught stealing. All is forgiven, though, as he came through against Jeurys Familia via a drag bunt up the first base line to score Johan Camargo from third with the contest tied at 3-3 in the ninth inning. Game over, man. Consider it a mixed-bag performance with a happy ending. Enciarte has the speed for 20-plus steals this season, though he offers little in the way of power.
Apr 21 - 10:49 PM

Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI in Saturday's win over the Mets.

The Mets held a 3-0 lead in the eighth inning before Freeman tightened the game up considerably with a two-run double. Freeman would never find his way home to tie up the game, but the new jolt of life he offered carried over into the ninth, when the Braves rallied for a pair of runs against Jeurys Familia. The slugger was hit by a pitch on his left wrist on Wednesday, but has come back swinging fine, a welcome sight given that it was the same wrist which he fractured a year ago. This season, Freeman is slashing .296/.446/.49e with two home runs and 15 RBI across 71 at-bats.
Apr 21 - 10:44 PM

Jeurys Familia blew the save in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Braves, surrendering two runs on three hits over 2/3 of an inning.

Familia came into the game with a runner on third and two outs in the eighth inning. The Mets were clinging to a 3-2 advantage at the time. While he would escape that jam via a strikeout of Preston Tucker, no such luck in the ninth inning. Dansby Swanson led off with a four-pitch walk against the closer, which Johan Camargo followed up with a game-tying RBI triple. Two batters later, Ender Inciarte scored Camargo on a drag bunt single to win the game. The two runs scored against him on Saturday were the first two Familia has allowed all year. He figures to be able to bounce back from this one quickly enough, once the sting abates.
Apr 21 - 10:40 PM

Asdrubal Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a two-run single in Saturday's loss to the Braves.

Cabrera plated two runs with his single off Sam Freeman in the eighth inning. Those were the first two runs to score in the game after Julio Teheran and Jacob deGrom kept things down over the first seven innings. On the whole, the veteran infielder has provided an unexpected offensive jolt in the early going this season. He's now working to an .354/.391/.608 triple-slash with four home runs, 12 RBI and 16 runs scored in 20 games. He's now notched multi-hit games in four of his last six contests.
