Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe was told by a National League scout that Ryan Braun is "the hot name out there" on the trade market.

Braun is in the first year of a five-year, $105 million extension, but that no longer looks a deal-killer given that he's batting .351/.424/.583 with nine home runs this season. The scout told Cafardo that he thought the Astros, Cardinals, Red Sox, Phillies, Mets, Giants, and White Sox were potential landing spots for Braun.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Saturday that he would like to ease Brad Boxberger (abdomen) back into the closer role.

Boxberger will be activated from the disabled list on Monday, but it sounds like Alex Colome could stick in the ninth inning for a few more days. "(Boxberger) is going to get plenty of opportunities in the ninth inning," Cash said. "I don't know if it's the right thing to do to stick him in a 2-1 ball game the first time he comes out. If we can work him into some outings a little bit lower leverage, that would be ideal."

Anthony DeSclafani (oblique) will make two more rehab starts with Triple-A Louisville before rejoining the Reds' rotation.

DeSclafani's next rehab start is slated for Monday. "He threw 37 (pitches) and will get up close to 60 next time and we’d like to get him close to 85 in the third outing," manager Bryan Price said. "Then we’ll reassess." DeSclafani has been out all season with a strained oblique, but he's nearing a return and is a worthy roster stash if he's available in your league.

Jon Moscot (shoulder) will rejoin the Reds' rotation this week in Colorado.

Moscot threw six scoreless innings in his last rehab start, paving the way for his return. It's unclear at this point who he will replace in the Reds' rotation, but Daniel Wright would seem to be the most likely candidate. Moscot can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Brandon Workman (elbow) has been making appearances in extended spring training games.

Making his way back from Tommy John surgery, Workman will remain in extended spring until short-season Lowell opens their season on June 17. He could be an option for the Red Sox' bullpen at some point in the second half.

Hyun-soo Kim made his fourth straight start in left field Saturday.

Rule 5 pick Joey Rickard has struggled of late, which has finally led to Kim getting an extended look. The 28-year-old has been terrific when given a chance this season, batting .386/.460/.455 across 50 plate appearances. He should continue to see regular at-bats if he keeps producing. "I just think he kind of brings some things we kind of need, some selectivity and kind of slow things down here and there," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "First of all, the guy’s going to have to get below .400 before you take him out. I’m not stupid. I don’t care how many at-bats or what kind of hits they are. At some point you go, ‘OK, let’s see.’ Like I told you, nobody really knows who he is or how good he can be."

Christian Yelich (back) struck out as a pinch-hitter in Saturday's loss to the Braves.

Yelich hasn't started in over a week due to back spasms, although he has made a couple pinch-hitting appearances. It's possible he'll be back in the lineup Sunday.
May 29 - 8:27 AM

Matt Adams (back) knocked a pinch-hit, two-run double in Saturday's win over the Nationals.

Adams hasn't started the last couple days due to a minor back issue, but he's fine. He could be in the lineup Sunday.
