The Nashville Tennessean confirms the Titans have "some interest" in free agent OLB LaMarr Woodley.
Woodley is visiting the Raiders on Wednesday, an indication he's seeking top dollar after Pittsburgh cut him. A previous report stated "many" people in the Steelers' organization expect Woodley to land with Ray Horton in Tennessee.
Free agent G Shelley Smith is visiting the Giants Wednesday.
The Giants landed Geoff Schwartz on Tuesday, but they're still hungry for offensive line help as they rebuild they unit. Smith has only started eight games over the last two seasons, but has been impressive as a run-blocker. Entering his age-27 season, there's upside here.
The Cardinals have shown interest in free agent DL/OLB Mike Neal.
Neal is quietly generating plenty of interest as a versatile pass rusher. The Eagles and Packers are also in the mix for a guy that led Green Bay with 37 quarterback hurries last season.
$2 million of Danny Amendola's $3 million base salary became guaranteed Tuesday.
Beat man Ben Volin points out that Amendola's deal does contain offsets, but adds that he now "likely stays." It's no surprise given how thin the Patriots are at wideout -- especially now that free agent Julian Edelman is out testing the market. Amendola was a brutal disappointment during his first year in New England, but slogged through a debilitating groin injury. It's always about healthy here, but Amendola will be a huge bounce-back candidate as a potential target monster from Tom Brady in 2014.
Giants released LB Marcus Dowtin.
Dowtin appeared in three games for the Giants last season, recording two tackles. He's a candidate to get a look from the Browns as he has ties to new coach Mike Pettine.
The Titans remain interested in free agent ILB Jameel McClain.
The Titans continue to scour the market for defenders with 3-4 experience. McClain is also drawing interest from the Vikings, Giants and Bills.
Free agent WR Brandon LaFell is visiting the Patriots Wednesday.
Tom Brady should be bubbling over with frustration. The Patriots failed to pony up the cash for Wes Welker last season and appear poised to follow the same path with Julian Edelman this year. LaFell is another backup-caliber outside receiver that wouldn't be an upgrade on the likes of Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins. LaFell's best work comes as a run blocker.
Free agent G/T Chris Williams is visiting the Bills Wednesday.
Williams started every game at left guard for the Rams last season, turning in a shaky performance at best. He'd still be a nice get for a team as a versatile backup. The o-line needy Rams reportedly remain interested as well.
