Blue Jays acquired RHP Nick Tepesch from the Twins for cash considerations.

The 28-year-old has spent the majority of the season in the minor leagues where he has posted a 6.81 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 33/12 K/BB ratio over 37 innings. This is nothing more than a minor league depth move for the Jays.

Dinelson Lamet surrendered two runs on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Lamet allowed RBI singles to Buster Posey and Gorkys Hernandez in the first and fourth innings, respectively. He struck out six and walked one over his 6 2/3 frames of work. This was a nice step up for Lamet after he surrendered a combined 12 runs (10 earned) in his last two starts. He will try to build off of Sunday's respectable outing when he takes on the Pirates at home next time out.
Jul 23 - 7:12 PM

Ty Blach yielded five runs on eight hits over seven innings in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Blach bounced back allowing a solo home run to Wil Myers in the first inning to fire off a pair of scoreless frames, but the train would go off the tracks in the fourth. That frame saw a two-run double surrendered to Jabari Blash, an RBI double to Hector Sanchez and an RBI single to Cory Spangenberg to put the Giants in a 5-1 hole. This outing is made all the more disappointing for the fact that Blach gave up just one run in seven innings against the Indians in his previous start. He will have a tough task ahead of him when he carries his 4.50 ERA and 1.32 WHIP into a road date with the Dodgers in his next scheduled outing.
Jul 23 - 7:08 PM

Trevor Story went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Story clocked a two-run homer off Ivan Nova in the sixth inning to give the Rockies a 7-1 lead. It was one of three two-run home runs the Rockies socked in the seven-run frame (Pat Valaika and Mark Reynolds provided the other two). For the season, Story is now hitting .237/.316/.429 with 13 homers and 46 RBI over the course of 84 games played. He has raised his average from .224 to its current .237 mark over his last 10 games.
Jul 23 - 7:06 PM

Mark Reynolds went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three total RBI in Sunday's 13-3 win over the Pirates.

Reynolds mashed a two-run tater in the sixth inning and later came through with a monster solo shot in the eighth which traveled an estimated 460 feet. This was the veteran first baseman's second two-homer game of the season and he is now up to 22 long balls for the campaign as a whole. In addition, Reynolds is hitting .286/.375/.525 and has driven in 70 runs. He is looking to crack 30 home runs for the first time since he swatted 37 in 2011 with the Orioles.
Jul 23 - 7:03 PM

Josh Harrison went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Rockies.

Harrison has now cracked doubles in three of his last five games. This was his second three-hit showing in that space, to boot. For the campaign as a whole, the second baseman is slashing .277/.355/.432 with 11 homers, 32 RBI, 46 runs and 10 steals scored over the course of 361 at-bats.
Jul 23 - 6:57 PM

David Freese went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Rockies.

After the Pirates fell behind 5-1, Freese inched them closer with a solo homer off Kyle Freeland in the sixth inning. The veteran third baseman is hitting .251/.385/.372 with seven homers and 30 RBI in 77 games. While he has a little five-game hitting streak going, his offensive contributions have been limited on the whole.
Jul 23 - 6:56 PM

Kyle Freeland allowed two runs on six hits over six innings in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Freeland struck out three and walked one on the afternoon. Josh Bell knocked him for an RBI single in the fourth and David Freese took him deep for a solo shot in the sixth, but otherwise the Pirates were unable to dent the scoreboard on his watch. The rookie southpaw will bring a 3.64 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 72/43 K/BB ratio (116 1/3 innings) into a potentially troublesome road start against the Nationals next time he toes the rubber.
