Giants placed WR Mario Manningham and KR Trindon Holliday on injured reserve.

Manningham was unlikely to make the final 53-man roster. He may be released with an injury settlement. Holliday missed all of Giants' camp with a hamstring injury.
Aug 30 - 10:27 AM

Browns released RB Chris Ogbonnaya.

Aug 30 - 10:22 AM

Redskins placed ILB Darryl Sharpton on injured reserve/designated for return.

He suffered a high ankle sprain in preseason. Wasting the I.R./designated for return tag on a reserve inside linebacker and special teamer is a head-scratching move, but then again most of the moves made under the new Skins regime have been head scratching. Sharpton can come back after eight games.
Aug 30 - 10:22 AM

Jets placed OLB Antwan Barnes (knee) on reserve/PUP.

Barnes, a seven-year veteran with 25.5 career sacks, tore his ACL in Week 5 of last season. He will have to sit out the first six games before being eligible for activation.
Aug 30 - 10:15 AM

Panthers released CB James Dockery and DT Casey Walker.

Dockery had five tackles in five appearances for the Panthers last season before a torn labrum ended his season. Dockery has 24 career appearances, but only two starts. Walker dealt with a rib injury during camp.
Aug 30 - 10:14 AM

Panthers released G Chris Scott.

Scott made eight starts at guard for the Panthers last season. He once again had trouble with his conditioning in the spring and got beat out for a backup job behind projected starters LG Amini Silatolu and RG Trai Turner.
Aug 30 - 10:06 AM

Browns released WR Nate Burleson.

Burleson, 33, was bothered by a hamstring injury all camp, rendering him unable to compete against the likes of Charles Johnson and Travis Benjamin. Still, it's a terrible sign for Burleson that the league's most WR-needy team didn't feel the need to keep him. Having appeared in just 15 games over the last two years, Burleson will find very little interest on the open market.
Aug 30 - 10:05 AM

Redskins waived RB Evan Royster.

Royster averaged 5.1 YPC with 25 receptions across three seasons in the Shanahan run game, but the new Redskins regime had no use for him due to special teams limitations. Zone-running teams might like Royster as a potential No. 3 back. At worst, he's a functional and versatile reserve.
