The Rangers have come to terms on a contract with international free agent INF Andy Ibanez.

Ibanez is 22 years old. He hit .283/.348/.419 with 13 homers in the last three seasons in Cuba. Known more for his glove than his bat at this time, he'll likely spend some time in the Ranger minor league system as the team looks to develop him. The terms of the contract have not yet been made public.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Andrew Miller (forearm) will be activated Wednesday.

Miller allowed two hits and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning Monday in a minor league rehab appearance with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The southpaw has been out for a month with a left forearm strain, but one appearance is all he needed to convince the Yankees that he was ready. Dellin Betances has been handling save chances, but Girardi said that it's likely Miller will be moved back into the closer role upon his return.

Jason Castro is out of Tuesday's lineup against the Indians.

He's presumably getting a breather. Hank Conger will start behind the plate and bat sixth against Corey Kluber.
Jul 7 - 3:50 PM

Luis Valbuena (toe) is out again Tuesday against the Indians.

Valbuena is dealing with a sprained left big toe and will miss his second straight start. He's hopeful that a few days of rest will do the trick. Marwin Gonzalez will fill in at third once again.

Rockies transferred 1B Justin Morneau from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Gonzalez Germen on the 40-man roster. Morneau has been out since late May with concussion symptoms and it's unclear when he'll be ready to return.
Jul 7 - 3:45 PM

Rockies claimed RHP Gonzalez Germen off waivers from the Cubs; optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Germen was designated for assignment by the Cubs over the weekend. The 27-year-old will serve as bullpen depth in the minors.
Jul 7 - 3:44 PM

Kolten Wong left Tuesday's game against the Cubs in the seventh inning with a head contusion.

Wong appeared shaken up after making a diving catch to end the fifth inning. He stayed in the game initially, but apparently wasn't feeling right. It's unclear if he'll be checked out for a concussion, but the Cardinals should pass along an update soon.
Jul 7 - 3:42 PM

Mike Napoli is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Marlins.

The struggling Napoli will take a seat against right-hander Dan Haren. Travis Shaw will start at first base.
