Kyle Barraclough worked a perfect ninth inning Sunday in Colorado for his seventh save.

Barraclough entered with a three-game lead, but he didn't need the big cushion. He mowed through the Rockies hitters he faced, throwing seven of his 10 pitches for strikes while lowering his ERA to a microscopic 1.05. The Marlins might not win many games, but when he comes in it is lights out. He won't fritter many leads away when he gets the chance for the save.
Jun 24 - 9:51 PM

Derek Dietrich had a big game Sunday in Colorado, finishing 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI.

Dietrich will wish the Marlins could stay in the rarefied air of Denver a little longer, as he had a homer in each of the three games against the Rockies. He wrapped up the three-game set going 8-for-13 with two doubles, three homers and four RBI. The Fish return home to open a three-game set with the Diamondbacks on Monday night. He is hitting just .277 with four homers and 14 RBI across 119 at-bats at Marlins Park, while posting a .322 average with seven homers and 15 RBI over 143 road at-bats.
Jun 24 - 9:43 PM

Lucas Duda went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday in Houston.

Duda has hit safely in each of his two games back from the 10-day disabled list, but he has also exhibited a little rust with two strikeouts in both contests. Hunter Dozier is sticking around with the big club, at least for now, so Duda's short-term fantasy outlook is a bit murky at the moment.
Jun 24 - 9:23 PM

Jason Hammel allowed nine runs - seven earned - and six hits with five walks and just three strikeouts over four innings in a loss Sunday in Houston.

Hammel was all over the place with his location, throwing just 52 of his 88 pitches for strikes while getting ahead of batters with just 14 first-pitch strikes to the 25 people he faced. His defense wasn't doing much to help his cause, either, as a catchers interference on Drew Butera and a booted ground ball by Mike Moustakas made things worse. He'll try to rebound next Saturday in Seattle opposite Felix Hernandez.
Jun 24 - 9:21 PM

Evan Gattis swatted a solo home run in a pinch-hitting appearance on Sunday against Kansas City.

Gattis got loose against Royals reliever Heath Fillmyer in the bottom of the eighth, coming on as the designated hitter late to give Jose Altuve a couple of innings to rest. He has swatted eight homers with 25 RBI in 21 games in the month of June. He'll look to keep things going as the Blue Jays start their visit on Monday evening.
Jun 24 - 9:15 PM

Miguel Rojas will undergo a CT scan on his injured left hand on Monday.

Rojas was scratched from the Marlins' lineup on Saturday and held out on Sunday because of the issue. If anything serious is found, he could wind up on the disabled list. More will be known after Monday's exam.
Jun 24 - 8:59 PM

Yuli Gurriel went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a home run and four RBI in Sunday's 11-3 flushing of the Royals.

Gurriel was hitless in the opener, but he is 5-for-9 over the past two games with two doubles, two homers and five RBI. He entered Saturday's game with just two home runs through his first 60 games and doubled that total over the past two outings. He'll be sad to see the Kansas City pitching staff leaving town. Next up is a visit from the Toronto Blue Jays and his younger brother Lourdes Gurriel Jr.
Jun 24 - 8:49 PM

Alex Bregman went hitless in four at-bats with a walk, a run scored and an RBI Sunday against the Royals, and he was trying everything to snap out of his funk.

Bregman also had a throwing error in the game, and was so determined to change his luck that he shaved in the middle of the 11-3 victory. Despite taking the collar at the plate, the Astros had more than enough offensive support for Gerrit Cole and the rest of the pitching staff. He is mired in a 4-for-24 (.167) slide with six strikeouts and just two extra-base hits, but he remains a solid fantasy option across the board.
