Trevor Bauer logged a quality start in a losing effort against the Orioles on Friday, allowing three runs on five hits over his seven innings.

The right-hander racked up six strikeouts on the evening while walking three. He served up a solo home run to Manny Machado in the fourth inning, then a two-run double to Trey Mancini in the fifth. Now 1-2 on the season, Bauer will bring a terrific 2.67 ERA and 1.11 WHIP into Wednesday's start against the Cubs.

Odubel Herrera went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI as the Phillies topped the Pirates 2-1 on Friday night in Philadelphia.

With the victory, the Phillies improved to 7-1 at home this season. Herrera delivered the biggest hit of the night, with a run-scoring triple in the eighth inning to snap a 1-1 tie. He has been locked in at the plate through the first few weeks of the season, slashing .343/.387/.486 with a homer and eight RBI in 75 plate appearances.
Apr 20 - 10:25 PM

Carlos Santana went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored as the Phillies bested the Pirates on Friday night.

Santana singled in the sixth inning, advanced to third on a base hit by Odubel Herrera and scored on a fielder's choice to get the Phillies on the board and tie the score at 1-1. He is off to a very rough start at the plate, slashing a mere .162/.286/.309 with two homers and 10 RBI.
Apr 20 - 10:23 PM

Hector Neris slammed the door on the Pirates in the ninth inning on Friday, preserving a one-run lead to earn his third save of the season.

Neris struck out one and didn't walk a batter. He allowed a one-out double to Jordy Mercer, but was able to strand him there. He now sports a 4.70 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 9/3 K/BB ratio through 7 2/3 innings on the season.
Apr 20 - 10:17 PM

Ben Lively delivered a quality start in a no-decision on Friday, limiting the Pirates to one run on five hits over six strong innings.

Lively walked three and struck out four on the night. He held the Pirates off the board through the first five innings until Jordy Mercer came through with a sacrifice fly to break a scoreless tie in the sixth. His next test will come on Thursday at home against the Diamondbacks, where he remains an iffy fantasy option.
Apr 20 - 10:13 PM

Gregory Polanco went 2-for-3 with a double as the Pirates fell to the Phillies on Friday night in Philadelphia.

Polanco also drew a walk in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances. After a terrific first week, Polanco has fallen on hard times and is now hitting just .206/.321/.500 with five homers and 15 RBI through his first 82 plate appearances.
Apr 20 - 10:13 PM

Ivan Nova pitched very well in a no-decision against the Phillies on Friday, allowing just one run on five hits across six frames.

Nova punched out three on the night and didn't walk a batter. The only blemish on his night came in the sixth inning, where Carlos Santana scooted home on a fielder's choice off the bat of Rhys Hoskins. The right-hander will look to get back in the win column when he carries a 4.20 ERA and 1.10 WHIP into Thursday's start against the Tigers.
Apr 20 - 10:05 PM

Whit Merrifield belted his second home run of the season as the Royals topped the Tigers 3-2 to salvage the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader.

Merrifield got the Royals on the board with a solo shot off of Tigers' starter Daniel Norris in the fifth inning. He finished the evening 1-for-5 and is now hitting .271/.354/.400 with a pair of long balls and five RBI on the season.
