Marwin Gonzalez (hand) is not in the Astros' lineup Saturday against the Tigers.

Gonzalez will get the day off after exiting Friday night's game with right hand soreness. His X-rays came back negative but Gonzalez will still need a few days to heal up. Tyler White is getting the nod at first base. He'll bat seventh against Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander. Consider Gonzalez day-to-day.

Todd Frazier is not in the White Sox lineup Saturday against the Twins.

Frazier sat out Friday's game with the flu and must still be feeling under the weather. Tyler Saladino is filling in at third base and will bat second versus Minnesota left-hander Tommy Milone. Frazier is listed on the lineup card as a bench option so we could see him as a pinch-hitter.
Jul 30 - 4:49 PM

Adam Eaton is not in the White Sox lineup Saturday against the Twins.

Eaton hasn't missed a game since the first week of the season, so he was probably due for a day off. Avisail Garcia will get the nod in right field and bat fifth against Twins lefty Tommy Milone. Eaton should be back in the starting nine for Sunday's series finale.

Kevin Pillar went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBI on Saturday, leading the Blue Jays in a 9-1 thrashing of the Orioles.

Pillar capped off a seven-run uprising in the fifth inning with a two-run double, then replicated the feat in the seventh to put the Jays ahead 9-1. With his two-hit attack, he's now hitting .268/.300/.396 with seven homers, 45 RBI and eight stolen bases.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the Padres are looking to deal Matt Kemp.

Everything must go. The Padres still aren't done selling even after trading away Andrew Cashner, Melvin Upton, James Shields, Fernando Rodney and Drew Pomeranz. Trading Kemp appears to be the team's next order of business and the Padres are willing to eat a large chunk of his salary to broker a deal. The 31-year-old has had a fine season, hitting .269 with 23 HR and 69 RBI. Rosenthal mentioned Atlanta as a possible fit. It looks like the only Padre safe from being traded is All-Star first baseman Wil Myers.

J.A. Happ delivered a brilliant outing in Saturday's victory over the Orioles, punching out 11 over seven innings of one-run ball.

Happ allowed just three hits and three walks on the day. His lone mistake came on an 0-2 pitch to Pedro Alvarez in the second inning that caught too much of the plate and was deposited into the seats in right field. Happ has been a tremendous addition to the Blue Jays rotation this season, posting a 13-3 record with a 3.16 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. He'll take on the Astros his next time out in Houston on Thursday.
Jul 30 - 4:27 PM

Pedro Alvarez clubbed a solo home run on Saturday, accounting for the Orioles' lone run in a loss to the Blue Jays.

Alvarez took advantage of a mistake that J.A. Happ made on an 0-2 pitch and pummeled it into the seats in right field. The left-handed slugger finished the afternoon 1-for-4 and is now hitting .249/.306/.480 with 13 homers and 32 RBI on the season.

Jonathan Lucroy is not in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against the Pirates.

This can't be a coincidence. Lucroy isn't hurt and the Brewers can't really call this a maintenance day since he was out of the lineup two days ago. It's unclear if a deal is in the works, but it seems likely that Lucroy will have a new team in the next 24-48 hours. Stay tuned.
