Huston Street held the Orioles scoreless in the 13th inning, preserving the Angels' one-run lead in a win on Thursday.

Street has been exactly what the Angels ordered when they traded for him on July 19. He's put together five scoreless appearances and is 4-for-4 in save chances. Overall, including his time with the Padres, Street is 28-for-29 in save chances with a 0.95 ERA and a 40/8 K/BB ratio.

Albert Pujols broke a 0-0 tie in the 13th inning with an RBI single, finishing 2-for-6 overall in Thursday's win over the Orioles.

After the Angels had Kole Calhoun and Mike Trout reach base with a walk and a single, respectively, Pujols ended 12 innings of offensive futility with a single up the middle to score Calhoun. Stunningly, it was Pujols' first RBI since July 23. The 34-year-old has a fine .274/.324/.471 slash line with 20 home runs and 67 RBI on the season.
Jul 31 - 11:47 PM

Denard Span knocked in a pair of runs with a single, one of his two hits in four at-bats, as the Nationals were defeated by the Phillies 10-4 on Thursday.

Span enjoyed the month of July, wrapping up the month with a .368 average (35-for-95). His two-run single, at the time, brought the Nationals back into the game at 5-3 in the fifth inning, but it wasn't nearly enough. Span has a decent .290/.349/.394 line along with 23 RBI and 20 stolen bases.
Jul 31 - 11:44 PM

Grady Sizemore went 3-for-5 with a two-run double and an RBI single in Thursday's win over the Nationals.

Sizemore has done nothing but hit since joining the Phillies. Thursday's outing brings his slash line up to .328/.359/.459 in 64 plate appearances. He has a home run and five RBI to go along with it. The Phillies can still trade Marlon Byrd at any point in August, but until then, Sizemore will be sharing playing time in left and center field with Domonic Brown and Ben Revere, respectively.
Jul 31 - 11:41 PM

Jimmy Rollins had a three-hit night at the plate along with an RBI and a pair of stolen bases in five trips to the plate in Thursday's win against the Nationals.

Rollins now has 21 stolen bases on the season, leaving him five home runs shy of a 20/20 season. The 35-year-old has been more than adequate, slashing .245/.325/.409 with 49 RBI.
Jul 31 - 11:38 PM

Gio Gonzalez didn't make it out of the fourth inning, allowing five runs in 3 2/3 innings, as he took his seventh loss of the season on Thursday against the Phillies.

It's the second time in his last three starts that Gonzalez couldn't escape the fourth. The Phillies more or less singled Gonzalez to death, racking up eight hits in total along with a walk. The lefty only struck out two. Gonzalez will take a 3.88 ERA into Tuesday's home start against the Mets.
Jul 31 - 11:36 PM

Ben Revere finished with four hits and a stolen base in six at-bats as the Phillies handily defeated the Nationals on Thursday.

Thursday's game didn't start off so well, as Cliff Lee quickly exited with an injury, but Revere did his best out of the lead-off spot to ensure a victory. It's Revere's third four-hit game of the season, and the stolen base brings him up to 30 on the season in 34 opportunities. Acknowledging his total lack of power, Revere has done his job at the plate thus far, slashing .306/.326/.366.
Jul 31 - 11:33 PM

Andrelton Simmons aggravated a nagging right shoulder injury during Wednesday's game.

It's not clear when he first injured the shoulder, but it doesn't appear to be a concern. Simmons was back in the lineup Thursday and will continue to play through the ailment. "He's fine," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "He got some treatment last night on his shoulder, but he's fine. If [the trainers] tell me there's more than that, then I would definitely not play him. But, he's fine."
