Bud Norris - S - Astros

Bud Norris left Tuesday's start against the Royals. after six scoreless innings after apparently aggravating his back injury.

Norris was originally supposed to start Sunday after leaving his previous outing with back spasms but was pushed back just in case. Obviously, it appears that he's not over the ailment. The righty gave up just five hits and two walks over six frames before exiting Tuesday. The Astros will provide an update on his status before long.

Max Scherzer - S - Tigers

Max Scherzer dominated the Indians over eight innings Tuesday, allowing just one run in the Tigers' 5-1 victory.

Scherzer allowed just two hits on the evening, striking out seven. After a first-inning run, the right-hander kept the Indians under wraps. The win moved him to 6-0 on the year, and he's got a 3.61 ERA and 0.91 WHIP through nine starts. His next start will come Sunday against the Twins.

Miguel Cabrera - 3B - Tigers

Miguel Cabrera hit his 12th home run of the season Tuesday in the Tigers' win over the Indians.

The home run raised his RBI total to a ridiculous 49, and he's now hitting .384/.455/.667 on the season. A Triple Crown is a rare feat, but Cabrera may actually be an odds-on favorite to repeat this year with how he's hitting.

Corey Kluber - S - Indians

Corey Kluber allowed three runs in 6 1/3 innings as the Indians lost to the Tigers on Tuesday.

Kluber was good until the sixth inning, when he allowed homers to Andy Dirks and Miguel Cabrera. Otherwise, Kluber struck out eight and was generally effective. The right-hander moved to 3-3 with the loss. His next start comes Sunday against the Red Sox.

Octavio Dotel - R - Tigers

Octavio Dotel (elbow) has resumed throwing.

Dotel was given medication and shut down for six days after Dr. James Andrews determined earlier this month that he had no structural damage in his right elbow. The righty will eventually head out on a rehab assignment, though it's unclear when that will happen. He should return sometime next month if he can avoid setbacks.

Andy Dirks - OF - Tigers

Andy Dirks went 2-for-5 with a home run as the Tigers beat the Indians on Tuesday.

The homer was Dirks' fifth, and he drove in two runs on the night. What's more, the outfielder batted leadoff ahead of Torii Hunter and Miguel Cabrera. It's likely temporary until Austin Jackson returns, but if Dirks can continue to get on base he should be in line to score plenty of runs in his new lineup spot.

Jed Lowrie - SS - Athletics

Jed Lowrie left Tuesday's game with a right foot contusion.

Lowrie was hit on the foot by a Yu Darvish pitch. It's not clear at this point if the ailment will cause him to miss additional time, but it's likely a day-to-day situation in all likelihood.

Josh Beckett - S - Dodgers

Josh Beckett (groin) threw on flat ground prior to Tuesday's game.

He did so without discomfort, something he was unable to do over the weekend. Beckett will throw off the mound soon before testing out his groin by running. The Dodgers haven't set a timetable for his return, but early June seems likely if all goes well.
