Andrew Moore surrendered four runs on six hits over 6 2/3 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Red Sox.

Three of the four runs on Moore's line came on home runs, with Rafael Devers burning him for a solo shot in the third inning and Sandy Leon doing likewise for a two-run shot in the fourth. Moore struck out three and walked one in the outing. He will carry a bloated 5.65 ERA and 1.15 WHIP into a road start against the Rangers next time he toes the rubber. The rookie right-hander has struggled of late, surrendering 14 runs on 21 hits over his past three starts covering 15 2/3 innings.

Brandon Belt went 1-for-3 with a go-ahead RBI double in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

With the game tied at 1-1, Belt came through with an RBI double in the seventh inning to put the Giants ahead on their way to a 2-1 victory. The two-bagger was his 24th of the season. Overall, the first baseman is slashing .238/.352/.454 with 16 homers and 48 RBI.

Sam Dyson recorded his sixth save since joining the Giants via a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

The Giants held a slim 2-1 lead and Dyson kept it right there for the save after entering action in the ninth. He fanned one in his scoreless inning of work. Since coming over to the Giants in trade, the closer has pitched much more sharply than he did with the Rangers earlier this season. He owns a 2.33 ERA and 16/8 K/BB ratio (19 1/3 innings) and is a perfect 6-for-6 in save chances since jumping over to the National League.

Yoenis Cespedes (quad) is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Cespedes was pulled in the seventh inning on Tuesday due to a bout of quad tightness. That injury would appear to be minor, though, as the outfielder is in the lineup and hitting third in Wednesday's contest.
Jul 26 - 6:58 PM

Adam Frazier went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.

Frazier notched an RBI double off Jeff Samardzija in the second inning. The would not score again in the contest and that double was the team's lone extra-base hit on the afternoon. For the season as a whole, Frazier is slashing .273/.347/.375 with three homers and 31 RBI across 264 at-bats.
Jul 26 - 6:34 PM

Josh Bell went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.

The Pirates were able to do next-to-nothing on offense against Jeff Samardzija and company, finishing with a mere five hits as a team. For his part, Bell is now hitting .249/.325/.479 with 18 homers and 55 RBI in 101 games.
Jul 26 - 6:29 PM

Jeff Samardzija yielded just one run on four hits over seven innings in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

Lovely work from Samardzija, who struck out eight and walked two in the outing. In terms of run-scoring action, only an RBI double by Adam Frazier in the second inning stood between Samardzija and seven shutout frames. He is a potential trade candidate at the deadline and has pitched to a 4.85 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 146/17 K/BB ratio in 21 starts (135 1/3 innings) this season. If the Giants opt not to move him at the deadline, his next start would come in Oakland against the A's.
Jul 26 - 6:26 PM

Trevor Williams allowed one run on five hits over six innings while taking a no-decision in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.

Williams struck out two and walked three on the afternoon. The lone run to score on his watch came when Brandon Crawford hit into an RBI fielder's choice in the first inning. Up next on the docket for Williams, a home start against the Reds. He will carry a 4.53 ERA and 1.32 WHIP into that contest.
