Ryan Braun (finger) is back in the brewers' lineup Sunday.

Braun didn't start the previous five games after undergoing cryotherapy on his right thumb, although he did come off the bench Saturday. He's in left field and batting third versus Luke Weaver and the Cardinals.

Jesus Aguilar is not in the Brewers' lineup Sunday.

The hot-hitting first baseman will take a seat while Eric Thames starts. Aguilar has already matched last year's total with his 16 home runs this season.

Noah Syndergaard (finger) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Sunday.

Everything went well. Syndergaard will throw another bullpen session Tuesday before then throwing a live batting practice session Friday. "Thor" has missed a month of action with a finger injury and presumably will require multiple rehab starts before rejoining the Mets' rotation.

Xander Bogaerts (finger) is back in the Red Sox' lineup Sunday.

Bogaerts sat out Saturday after spraining his left index finger on a slide Friday, but he's fine. He is at shortstop and batting fifth against Marco Gonzales and the Mariners.
Jun 24 - 11:09 AM

Mookie Betts (illness) is back in the Red Sox' lineup Sunday.

Betts was scratched from Saturday's lineup because of illness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. He's in right field and batting leadoff.

Yu Darvish (triceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A South Bend on Monday.

Darvish has missed over a month of action with a triceps issue, so he figures to require multiple rehab outings before rejoining the Cubs' rotation. He's posted a disappointing 4.95 ERA so far in his first year in Chicago.
Jun 24 - 11:07 AM

Braves designated INF/OF Phil Gosselin for assignment.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Evan Phillips. Gosselin can declare free agency if he clears waivers.
Jun 24 - 11:04 AM

Braves purchased the contract of RHP Evan Phillips from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Phillips boasts a 2.31 ERA and 50/14 K/BB ratio over 35 relief innings for Gwinnett this season. The 23-year-old will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
