Joc Pederson homered in a 2-for-5 effort as the Dodgers eked out a win over the Rockies in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Pederson ripped a tape-measure home run in the day game, estimated at 477 feet. The nightcap homer was another long-distance blast, a solo shot in the third inning off of David Hale. He's homered in four consecutive games now, giving him 16 on the season along with 31 RBI. Pederson has exceeded any and all expectations, which were already high to begin with.

Troy Tulowitzki hit a late, game-tying homer, but it was wasted by the Rockies in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

Tulowitzki, who finished 1-for-4, broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning with a two-run home run off of Yimi Garcia, but the Rockies' bullpen would waste their newfound lead. Tulowitzki has begun heating up at the plate, hitting three of his five home runs on the season in his last four games. He's also batting a respectable .287/.303/.468 with 23 RBI, though he's certainly capable of producing much better numbers.
Jun 3 - 12:08 AM

Alex Guerrero pinch-hit and blasted a two-strike, two-out grand slam in the ninth inning to erase a three-run deficit as the Dodgers took down the Rockies in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

It's hard to come up any bigger than that. Though it is no surprise coming from Guerrero as he has been hitting all season long. The salami was his 10th homer of the season along with 25 RBI and a .296/.327/.684 triple-slash line in 100 plate appearances.
Jun 3 - 12:06 AM

Evan Gattis went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the Astros' 6-4 victory on Tuesday.

Gattis blasted a three-run shot off Orioles starter Mike Wright in the third inning, his 12th home run of the season. The designated hitter is sixth in the AL in home runs and seventh in the league with 36 RBI. After a slow start, Gattis has proven to be what the Astros hoped they were getting when they traded for his this past winter.
Jun 3 - 12:04 AM

Ryan Flaherty hit a two-run triple and scored a run in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.

Flaherty's triple was part of a four-run second inning against Astros starter Collin McHugh. The triple, his second of the year, was Flaherty's only hit in three at-bats. Flaherty is hitting .276/.364/.517 in a part-time role this year.
Jun 3 - 12:00 AM

Luis Valbuena homered and scored two runs in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

The infielder, who has homered in two straight, took Orioles starter Mike Wright deep in the third inning. He also walked and scored in the eighth inning. Valbuena has 12 home runs, sixth-most in the American League, but owns a disappointing .199/.270/.431 line overall.

Blue Jays optioned RHP Scott Copeland to Triple-A Buffalo.

Copeland was the 26th man for Tuesday's doubleheader but didn't appear in either game. He's tossed three scoreless innings in a couple of stints with the big club this season.
Jun 2 - 11:53 PM

Luke Gregerson pitched a scoreless ninth inning against the Orioles to earn the save on Tuesday.

Gregerson gave up a single to Delmon Young but struck out the other three batters he faced to earn the save. Gregerson has 15 saves on the year to go with a 3.42 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 27/6 K/BB ratio over 23 2/3 innings.
