Reggie Bush played 37 snaps to Joique Bell's 36 in the Lions' Week 3 win over the Packers.

Bell led the tandem in touches in each of Detroit's first two games. Bell still finished with 15 carries, including six in clock-killing mode, and remains the Lions' primary between-the-tackles runner. Bush is OC Joe Lombardi's space back. Detroit takes on the Jets in Week 4, with Bush as the superior fantasy bet because of his role. New York is very stout in the front seven.

Carson Palmer (shoulder) is "improving," and could throw "this week or next."

That's all good and well, but Palmer's outlook remains rather vague. The Cardinals are on bye this week, giving Palmer seven extra days to heal up for Week 5's showdown with the Broncos. He should be considered week to week, and a tenuous hold in 12-team leagues as byes start creeping in.

ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson stated on NFL Insiders that Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) and Brandon Marshall (ankle) are "going to play" Monday night against the Jets.

Both are listed as questionable, but will be in the lineup, per Dickerson. Jeffery practiced on a limited basis all last week, while Marshall is coming off of a three-touchdown performance against the 49ers. Marshall is a locked-in WR1 against the Jets' Dee Milliner-less secondary. Jeffery is a high-end WR2.

Cardinals RCB Antonio Cromartie (bone bruise in knee) is considered day to day, and likely to suit up against the Broncos for Week 5.

The Cardinals' bye came at the right time for Cromartie. Cromartie's play has improved on his dismal 2013, and his presence opposite Patrick Peterson will be very important as the Cardinals look to slow down Peyton Manning next week.

The Baltimore Sun reports Dennis Pitta had his dislocated hip "popped back in" after being sedated on Sunday evening, and is expected to undergo surgery.

Pitta also has a fracture. Underscoring the severity of the situation, Pitta has remained in Cleveland. There hasn't been official word, but Pitta is almost certainly done for the season, leaving Owen Daniels as the Ravens' starting tight end. If you're already in a bye-week crunch, Pitta can be safely dropped. Hopefully his career isn't in danger, but it's a possibility.

The 49ers are "optimistic" Vernon Davis (ankle) will return for Week 4.

Coach Jim Harbaugh said so at Monday's presser. With Davis and Vance McDonald sidelined for Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, the 49ers increased No. 3 receiver Stevie Johnson's role on offense. Davis would be a mid-range TE1 for a likely shootout with the Eagles.
Sep 22 - 3:17 PM

Bucs DT Gerald McCoy (broken hand) participated in Monday's practice.

McCoy is fully expected to return for Week 4 after sitting out last week's debacle. His status will be updated later this week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter stated on NFL Insiders Monday that the "early sense" is T.Y. Hilton (ankle) will be available for Week 4 against Tennessee.

Coach Chuck Pagano said earlier Monday he didn't think Hilton's injury was "too severe," despite the fact that it cost him the entire second half of Sunday's win over Jacksonville. Of course, the Colts may have simply been playing it safe with Hilton because they were pasting the Jags. Through three games this season, Hilton has 16 catches for 186 yards without a touchdown.
