Jason Marquis picked up his second win of the season after holding the Brewers to two runs over eight innings on Monday.

Marquis entered the game with a 7.20 ERA over his first three starts, so he sorely needed an outing like Monday's. The lowly Brewers could only squeak out two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three times. Marquis, with a more reasonable 5.48 ERA, also sports a 1.52 WHIP and a 24/7 K/BB ratio in 23 innings. He'll match up with the Braves at Turner Field in his next start.

Kris Bryant singled twice with two RBI in four at-bats on Monday as the Cubs defeated the Pirates 4-0.

Bryant pushed the Cubs' lead to 3-0 with a two-run single in the third inning. The rookie has shown good poise at the plate in his first 46 plate appearances, batting .351/.478/.459 with nine RBI. Fans and fantasy owners alike wait with bated breath for his first career home run.

Anthony Rizzo knocked in a pair of runs with a single and a double, helping the Cubs take down the Pirates on Monday.

Rizzo served a Vance Worley offering into center field to score the Cubs' first run of the game. He also singled in a run in the fifth and walked, finishing 2-for-3. Rizzo has been an offensive machine thus far, batting .344/.494/.508 with two home runs and nine RBI.

Vance Worley took the loss on Monday against the Cubs, giving up four runs in six innings.

The Cubs did most of the damage with a three-run first inning, scoring once on an Anthony Rizzo double and twice on a Kris Bryant single. Overall, Worley yielded nine hits, walked one, and struck out three. The right-hander takes a 4.50 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and an 18/9 K/BB ratio over 24 innings into a road start against the Cardinals.
Apr 27 - 10:41 PM

Jason Hammel earned the win on Monday after blanking the Cubs over eight innings.

Despite solid peripherals, Hammel carried a 5.19 ERA over three starts entering the night. He dominated the Pirates, holding them to just four hits (all singles) without issuing a walk and striking out seven. He lowered his ERA to 3.55 and boasts a 1.03 WHIP with a 23/1 K/BB ratio in 25 1/3 innings. Hammel will search for his third win of the season at home against the Brewers in his next start.
Apr 27 - 10:38 PM

Doug Fister's struggles continued as he yielded five runs (four earned) in 5 2/3 innings in an 8-4 loss to the Braves.

Fister held the Braves to two runs over his first five innings, but he contributed to a three-run sixth inning to end his evening. He allowed 10 hits, walked two, and struck out three in the effort. He has allowed five runs in back-to-back starts. Fister will attempt to rebound in New York when he takes on the Mets in his next start. He owns a 3.28 ERA with a 1.46 ERA and a mediocre 11/9 K/BB ratio in 24 2/3 innings.
Apr 27 - 10:36 PM

Eric Stults earned his first win of the season, holding the Nationals to two runs in 6 1/3 innings on Monday.

Stults has now pieced together back-to-back quality outings for the Braves. He limited the Nationals to four hits and three walks while striking out three on the evening. He'll bring a 4.03 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and a 13/6 K/BB ratio in 22 1/3 innings into a weekend home start versus the Reds.
Apr 27 - 10:33 PM

Dan Uggla went 1-for-2 with an RBI triple as the Nationals lost Monday's contest to the Braves.

Uggla entered the game at second base -- forcing Danny Espinosa to third -- when Yunel Escobar exited with a hand injury. In the eighth inning, he tripled in a run and came around to score on a throwing error by Jace Peterson. Offensive success, once again, has been hard to come by for Uggla, who's currently hitting .135/.200/.243 in 40 plate appearances.
