Wade Davis worked around a single allowed in a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's 10-8 win against the Mets, securing his 21st save.

It was a tidy outing for Davis, who threw eight of his 10 pitches for strikes. He blew his past two save opportunities so fantasy owners needed to see a dominant effort. It wasn't a perfect appearance, but he was pounding the strike zone and this is what you want to see. While he has managed just seven saves over his past 10 opportunities since May 11, he should still be viewed as one of the better closer options in the game.

Gerardo Parra went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 10-8 victory against the Mets.

Parra has logged three consecutive multi-hit games while driving in seven of his season's 31 RBI. He has also scored a goal in four straight games, and six of the past seven outings. The red-hot month of June continues for the outfielder, as he is hitting .386 (22-for-57) with four doubles and 14 RBI in 16 games to raise his average from .275 to .304 since flipping the calendar from May to June.
Jun 21 - 1:36 AM

Nolan Arenado finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-8 victory against the Mets.

Arenado has enjoyed a visit from the Mets and their beleaguered pitching staff, swatting homers in consecutive games for the fourth time this season. He has logged multi-hit games in each of his past two outings, and four of the past six while driving in nine runs. The All-Star hot corner man is enjoying a hot streak, and he'll need to keep doing his part as the Colorado pitching staff has been horrible lately.
Jun 21 - 1:31 AM

Chad Bettis coughed up eight earned runs, nine hits and five walks over just 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.

Bettis threw just 56 of his 97 pitches for strikes, including just 16 first-pitch strikes to the 27 batters he faced, for a game score of just 13. He has been horrible at home, posting a 0-0 record with an 8.75 ERA in seven starts at Coors Field vs. a 5-1 record and 2.70 ERA in eight starts away from home. Fortunately for his fantasy owners his next scheduled start will be Tuesday in San Francisco before working on the road against the Dodgers next Sunday.
Jun 21 - 1:27 AM

Dominic Smith went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-8 road loss against the Rockies.

Smith could see some regular at-bats with Jay Bruce (hip) on the 10-day disabled list. He played outfield for Triple-A Las Vegas and his natural position is first base. His versatility and offensive upside will get him into the lineup on a regular basis until the Mets start to get back to health. Trades this summer could also potentially open up a job for the remainder of the season.
Jun 21 - 1:21 AM

Asdrubal Cabrera finished Wednesday's 10-8 loss in Colorado with a single, a double, a walk and two RBI across five at-bats.

Cabrera is working on a four-game multi-hit streak and he has driven in five runs during the outing. His batting average plummeted from .315 to .267 as a result of a 5-for-55 skid (.090) from May 29 to June 16. However, he is working his way back up to a good number and improving his trade stock again leading up to the non-waiver trade deadline.
Jun 21 - 1:13 AM

Danny Valencia went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI in a 3-0 interleague shutout of the Nationals on Wednesday.

He laced a double in the ballgame but the RBI came on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. The stolen base was his first of the season. Valencia has steadily worked his way into a near-everyday role in the starting lineup. The added playing time hasn't yet turned him into a strong fantasy asset but owners could definitely do worse in AL-only leagues. He has a .285/.351/.464 triple-slash with six homers and 18 RBI in 151 at-bats.
Jun 21 - 1:10 AM

Seth Lugo allowed six runs - three earned - and six hits with two walks and five strikeouts across three innings in a no-decision Wednesday at Colorado.

Lugo was outstanding in his first start of the season June 10, beating the Yankees while working six scoreless frames. He is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in two starts since, yielding eight earned runs over eight innings with 14 hits allowed, including three homers. His next scheduled outing is Monday night against Jameson Taillon and the Pirates to kick off a two-start week.
