An MRI on Trey Mancini's knee Saturday came back clean, Orioles manager Buck Showalter said.

He'll miss a few games but the 26-year-old isn't expected to need a disabled list stint for the sore knee. Craig Gentry started in left field and batted leadoff Saturday, and will likely get the bulk of playing time in Mancini's absence.

Chris Tillman let in four runs in six innings and took a loss to the Indians on Saturday.

He got burned for three home runs -- all solo shots -- by Yan Gomes, Jose Ramirez and Yonder Alonso. He struck out five, walked one and yielded eight total hits. The fact that this was Tillman's best start of the season tells you all you need to know. His record falls to 0-4 with a 9.87 ERA and 2.37 WHIP. He has just eight strikeouts and 11 walks in 17 1/3 innings after four starts. One would think it could only get better from here but then we remember that he finished last year with a 7.84 ERA in 19 starts and five relief appearances.

Xander Bogaerts (ankle) will embark on a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday.

If Tuesday and Wednesday's games go well, Bogaerts could be activated after Thursday's off day. He's been sidelined since April 9 with a small fracture in his left ankle, but the recovery has gone smoothly to this point. Brock Holt and Tzu-Wei Lin have filled in at shortstop in his absence.

Ranger recalled RHP Jose Leclerc from Triple-A Round Rock.

Outfielder Ryan Rua was sent out in a corresponding move. Leclerc broke camp with the club but was optioned shortly after, despite tossing three scoreless innings of relief to open the year. Like that one, his stay this time might also be short with reliever Tony Barnette a few days away from a possible activation.

Rangers optioned OF Ryan Rua to Triple-A Round Rock.

Rua's stay with the club lasted four days, after he was called up following reliever Tony Barnette's injury. With the club needing another reliever, Jose Leclerc will replace Rua on the roster. He'll likely be a frequent flyer in Arlington this season.

A source tells Jack Curry of the YES Network that Yankees top prospect Gleyber Torres will be promoted before Sunday's game.

Torres performed well in camp and hasn't stopped hitting since the regular season began, slashing .370/.415/.543 in 13 games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. With the arbitration threshold cleared, the Yanks have decided his time is now in New York. Torres will likely log most of his time at second base, though he could also play third and spell Didi Gregorius at short.

Nationals recalled RHP Trevor Gott from Triple-A Syracuse.

Gott was just sent out a few days ago but the injury to Matt Grace necessitated his quick turnaround. Gott made two scoreless appearances with Syracuse after being sent down, and had a 5.40 ERA in five appearances with the Nats earlier this year. He'll serve in middle relief.
Apr 21 - 6:20 PM

Nationals placed RHP Matt Grace on the 10-day disabled list with a left groin strain.

Grace was grappling with a left hip flexor Friday, but the team says it's a groin strain that sent him to the DL. Grace owns an ugly 5.06 ERA but a 0.94 WHIP and has 10 strikeouts in 10 2/3 innings of work this year. He'll be replaced on the active roster by Trevor Gott.
