Scott Schebler hit a go-ahead RBI double in the 11th inning of Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Schebler didn't start the contest, but came on as a pinch-hitter late. He notched hits in both of his at-bats, with his 11th inning RBI double off Ryan Vogelsong boosting the Reds to a 6-5 lead. That score would stand as the final. He should feel free to bask in the glory of his go-ahead hit, but for fantasy purposes, there is little intrigue here.

John Jaso hit a game-tying solo home run in the ninth inning of Sunday's 6-5, 11-inning loss to the Reds.

Jaso's solo homer off reliever Ross Ohlendorf came with two outs in the ninth inning and tied the proceedings at 5-all. Alas for the Pirate faithful, that would be the last run to score for the home team. Jaso has now homered in two straight games -- his first two homers of the season, at that. While he is slashing a tidy .306/.375/.471 across 85 at-bats, there is little in his history that would indicate that such a batting line will hold up over the course of the season.

Didi Gregorius is not in the Yankees starting lineup for Sunday's matchup against the Red Sox.

Gregorius once again will take a seat against a tough opposing left-hander as manager Joe Girardi opts to play the matchups. Ronald Torreyes will start at shortstop for the Yankees and bat eighth on Sunday.
May 1 - 5:32 PM

Jeff Locke earned a no-decision in Sunday's 6-5, 11-inning loss to the Reds, hurling seven innings of three-run ball.

Locke struck out six, walked two and scattered four hits over his seven innings of work. All three runs on his line scored in the sixth inning. The solid outing helped push his once bloated ERA down to a still overweight 4.73. Much of that weight came in an eight-run debacle against the Padres two starts ago. There isn't much fantasy upside here, but Locke will try to keep slimming that earned run mark when he tangos with the Cardinals in St. Louis next time out.
May 1 - 5:32 PM

Brian McCann is not in the Yankees starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

He'll take a seat in favor of Austin Romine, who will bat nine for the Bombers on Sunday night. McCann is off to a solid start at the plate this season, slashing .262/.351/.415 with three homers and seven RBI in his first 19 games.
May 1 - 5:30 PM

Carlos Beltran is not in the Yankees starting lineup for Sunday night's showdown against the Red Sox.

It's just a routine day of rest for the 39-year-old. Aaron Hicks will draw the start in his place and bat seventh against opposing left-hander David Price.
May 1 - 5:27 PM

Making his first starts in the majors, Tim Adleman allowed just two runs on three hits over six innings in earning a Sunday no-decision against the Pirates.

Adleman walked just two and showed no signs of the wobbly control that occasionally plagues rookie starters. He kept the Pirates off the board until the fifth inning, at which point Gregory Polanco finally made the 28-year-old right-hander feel the burn with a solo home run. Those in deeper NL-only leagues can feel free to take a speculative flier on Adleman, as he will fill in for the injured Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) in the rotation until the latter has healed up. Just be aware that he is not considered a true fantasy prospect.
May 1 - 5:25 PM

Zach Britton will undergo an MRI exam on his injured ankle on Monday.

X-rays came back negative on Sunday, but the O's want to make sure there isn't any structural damage. As long as the results come back as expected, Britton could avoid a trip to the disabled list and only miss a couple of days. Darren O'Day is the most likely candidate to see save chances in his absence.
