Yasmani Grandal has passed all concussions tests given to him by the Dodgers' medical staff.

He'll play in three rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City beginning on Tuesday -- serving as the designated hitter -- before being activated on Saturday when first eligible. Grandal sports a nice .291/.403/.466 batting line with four homers and 17 RBI for the Dodgers this season.

In his first start back in the Nationals' rotation, Tanner Roark fired five innings of one-run ball in a 2-1 win over the Cubs on Monday.

Taking the place of the injured Doug Fister (forearm) in the rotation, Roark held the Cubs to three hits and one walk while striking out three. He threw 66 pitches, which is right about where the Nationals were planning to cut him off for his first start back. Roark isn't going to amass a ton of strikeouts -- he averaged just 6.25 K/9 last year -- but he should be mixed league relevant as a starter. The NL East is full of light-hitting teams.

Drew Storen struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning Monday against the Cubs for his 15th save of the season.

Storen began the ninth inning by hitting Kris Bryant with a pitch -- it was originally ruled as a check swing, but overturned on replay -- but he was able to retire the final three batters to end it. He leads the NL in saves and has an excellent 0.89 ERA and 26/3 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings.

Wilson Ramos launched a go-ahead solo home run against the Cubs on Monday.

His sixth-inning blast off Justin Grimm ended up being the difference in the ballgame. After hitting just one home run over his first 31 games this season, Ramos has gone deep twice in the last five games. He's hitting .285/.306/.394 on the year.

Denard Span smacked a leadoff homer Monday against the Cubs.

It was the fourth leadoff homer of his career. He already has four home runs through 27 games this season after amassing five all of last year. His career-high is eight, back in 2009.
May 25 - 5:08 PM

Kris Bryant went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a losing effort Monday against the Nationals.

After going homerless over his first 20 games in the majors, Bryant has gone deep six times in his last 16 games. The 23-year-old owns a healthy .282/.400/.473 batting line to go along with 30 RBI, five steals, and 25 runs scored. He's been worth the wait for Cubs fans and fantasy owners.

Reds manager Bryan Price said Monday that he doesn't expect Johnny Cueto (elbow) to miss any more starts.

Cueto had to be scratched from an outing Sunday due to a stiff pitching elbow, but the club doesn't consider the ailment to be serious. He'll throw a bullpen session in a few days and be cleared to rejoin the rotation presumably this weekend against the Nationals.
May 25 - 4:57 PM

Bruce Rondon (biceps) is hoping to rejoin the Tigers' bullpen by the middle of next week.

Rondon had a 1-2-3 inning Sunday in his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Toledo, hitting 98 mph a couple times on the radar gun. The goal is for him to make back-to-back appearances on Friday and Saturday and then a final appearance of more than one inning after that. If he gets through that with no issues, he'll be activated. Rondon has been out all season with right biceps tendinitis.
