Astros RHP prospect Joe Musgrove notched five strikeouts over six shutout innings Monday in a win for Double-A Corpus Christi.

He scattered five hits and one walk. Hitting Musgrove has been next to impossible this year. So far he's held opponents to a .193 average with 26 strikeouts in 88 at-bats. The dominant right-hander leads the Texas League in ERA (0.39) and is second in WHIP (0.86). Musgrove hasn't allowed an earned run since April 19 against Springfield. The 23-year-old began his career in the Blue Jays' organization but was traded to Houston in 2012.

Orioles placed SS J.J. Hardy on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 2, with a left foot fracture.

Hardy suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his foot in the fourth inning of Sunday's game. He's expected to miss around 6-8 weeks. Manny Machado is an option to fill in at shortstop during Hardy's absence, though Ryan Flaherty and Paul Janish are also on the active roster. Chris Davis and Pedro Alvarez could see time at third base if Machado makes the move to shortstop.

Orioles recalled INF Ryan Flaherty from Triple-A Norfolk.

He'll replace the injured J.J. Hardy (foot) on the active roster. It's unclear how the Orioles intend to play it in their infield with Hardy sidelined, but Flaherty should see some starts. The 29-year-old is a .215 hitter in the majors, but he offers some pop and could be relevant in AL-only leagues if the playing time is there.

Yankees RHP prospect Cale Coshow surrendered just one hit over six scoreless innings Monday for Double-A Trenton.

Akron came from behind to win 2-1, forcing Coshow to settle for another no-decision. Coshow remains winless despite an impressive 2.89 ERA. The 23-year-old has struggled with control at times, walking 12 batters in 28 innings this season. Opponents have hit .224 against him with 18 strikeouts in 98 at-bats. Coshow pitched out of the bullpen early in his career but has been used exclusively as a starter since joining Trenton late last season.

Roberto Perez will have his right thumb re-examined by Dr. Thomas Graham on Thursday.

Perez was placed on the disabled list over the weekend with a fractured right thumb. Surgery hasn't been ruled out as a possibility. Adam Moore will continue to serve as Yan Gomes' backup.

Tigers OF prospect Steven Moya delivered three hits Monday in a win for Triple-A Toledo.

Moya also walked and scored two runs. 13 of Moya's 26 hits this year have gone for extra bases including five home runs. The 24-year-old is hitting .286 for the season, well above his .250 career average. Moya's strikeout rate has also improved. He's struck out in 22 percent of his at-bats this year compared to 32.4 last season. Moya hit .182 in nine games for the Tigers in 2015.

Jason Heyward (wrist) is out of the starting lineup again on Tuesday against the Pirates.

The struggling Heyward is dealing with a sore right wrist, but hopes to return as soon as Wednesday. Kris Bryant will play right field Tuesday while Jorge Soler will start in left and bat second. Javier Baez will play third base.
