Yankees recalled LHP Tyler Webb from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Webb will join the Yankees' bullpen on Thursday night in a middle-relief role. The 26-year-old lefty was sporting a 3.24 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 47/3 K/BB ratio in 33 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level.

Yankees optioned INF/OF Rob Refsnyder to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Refsnyder has batted just .172/.226/.276 in 31 plate appearances this season at the major league level, and he was 3-for-19 (.158) in June.

Marlins activated RHP Junichi Tazawa from the 10-day disabled list.

Tazawa will return to the Marlins' bullpen Thursday after missing five weeks with rib cage inflammation. The 31-year-old right-hander has posted a disappointing 6.60 ERA in 16 relief appearances this season for Miami.

Marlins placed RHP Brad Ziegler on the 10-day disabled list with a right back strain.

Ziegler had been on a nice roll in June before getting blown up for seven runs -- five earned -- over his last two appearances. Junichi Tazawa has been activated from the disabled list in a corresponding roster move.

Yankees prospect Miguel Andujar went 2-for-3 on Wednesday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Andujar also drew a walk. Since being promoted to Triple-A, he's hitting .500, which probably isn't sustainable. Jokes aside, Andujar has been excellent in 2017, showing an above-average hit tool and solid pop from the right side as well. With Chase Headley struggling and Gleyber Torres no longer an option, this could be the player that finishes the year at third base for the Yankees if he keeps putting up these kinds of numbers.
Jun 22 - 2:13 PM

Braves prospect Dustin Peterson went 2-for-6 over a doubleheader on Wednesday for Triple-A Gwinnett.

Peterson also scored a run, walked and drove in four over the two games. The 2013 second-round pick missed the beginning of the year after undergoing surgery on his hand, and he hasn't found his stroke yet. He has average tools across the board, however, and he's shown a quality approach even without the hits dropping. He could be a solid utility player for Atlanta in the coming seasons.
Jun 22 - 2:06 PM

Phillies prospect Rhys Hoskins went 2-for-4 on Wednesday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

On top of the two hits, Hoskins also drew two walks. It's a good example of how he doesn't need the long ball to be a quality fantasy prospect. Sure there will be strikeouts, but he's going to get on via walk and hit for a high enough average for that to not kill his value. It's only a matter of time before he gets a chance to hit for the Phillies.

Rangers designated RHP Eddie Gamboa for assignment.

The move clears a 40-man roster spot for Preston Claiborne, who will join the Rangers' bullpen on Thursday. Gamboa was sporting a rough 6.49 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 77 2/3 innings (14 starts) this season at Triple-A Round Rock.
