Royce O'Neale managed just two points across 27 minutes off the bench in Friday's loss against Portland.

O'Neale hit just 1-of-8 from the field, including 0-of-3, while adding five rebounds, four assists, a steal and two turnovers. The return of Ricky Rubio dropped him into the 26-29 minute range as figured, so he remains useful in 14-team fantasy formats as long as he can straighten out his shooting woes. He'll look to turn things around Saturday against the Mavericks.

Rudy Gay (heel) returned to action on Friday vs. the Nuggets, playing 19 minutes with five points, three boards and two assists.

Even though Kawhi Leonard (quad, personal) may not return this season, the Spurs seem comfortable with Kyle Anderson in the first unit. Gay may have restrictions for a while, so he's just a low-end player to own in fantasy leagues for the time being. We'll see what his role looks like on Sunday vs. Cleveland in his second game back.
Feb 24 - 12:59 AM

Derrick Favors posted just four points on 2-of-6 shooting in 25 minutes Friday against Portland.

Favors was able to salvage the stat line somewhat with nine rebounds, two assists, a steal and no turnovers, but the point production was disappointment. He should have better results Saturday against Dallas against a Mavs scoring defense allowing 104.8 points per game. He might also not have to deal with Dirk Nowitzki (back) down low, so that's a plus.
Feb 24 - 12:58 AM

Rudy Gobert finished with 15 points over 34 minutes in Friday's 100-81 loss against the visiting Trail Blazers.

Gobert hit a solid 6-of-9 from the field while pulling down nine boards with three assists, two steals and four blocked shots. The matchup against fellow dominant big man Jusuf Nurkic was a battle, but both bigs came away with solid performances for their clubs. The Stifle Tower will be back in action on Saturday against the Mavericks, and he might not have Dirk Nowitzki (back) to contend with to help his cause.
Feb 24 - 12:56 AM

Dirk Nowitzki looked to have a lower back injury and went to the locker room.

The good news is that the Mavs said he was available to return, but this game was a blowout. Nowitzki was getting worked on near the bench and he was displeased before he went to the locker room. While it's not a bad injury, one would think he's not going to play on Saturday against the Jazz. That'll open up run for Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber and Salah Mejri.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol was back in the starting lineup on Friday vs. the Nuggets and posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

He also blocked three shots with three assists and one triple in 30 minutes. There's no word on whether or not Gasol will stick with the first unit, but it would be good news for his fantasy value if he does -- he averages 25.2 minutes as a starter compared to 18.0 minutes as a reserve. We'd still expect him to pick up some random rest days though because that's just what the Spurs do.
Feb 24 - 12:53 AM

Ricky Rubio (hip) returned to the starting lineup Friday against Portland, finishing with just four points over 20 minutes.

Rubio hit just 2-of-6 from the field while adding four rebounds, two assists and three rebounds with no 3-pointers. It was an ugly game for Rubio, but it wasn't a very good outing for the rest of his teammates either in a 19-point loss. He'll look for better results in Saturday's game against the Mavericks as long as he checks out OK after the game with the training staff.
Feb 24 - 12:51 AM

Lou Williams scored 35 points with three rebounds, four assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in a 128-117 win over the Suns on Friday.

He's a lock for Sixth Man of the Year at this point and he should probably be unanimous. The Clippers are just 1.0 games behind the Pelicans for the No. 8 spot, but both teams do have a really tough schedule coming up. Either way, it's looking like Williams won't get much rest as he looks to put a bow on one of the best sixth-man seasons in recent memory.
