Seth Smith (ankle) is in the Mariners' starting lineup for Monday's Cactus League game.
Smith was scratched from Sunday's game with a sore ankle. It's obviously not a serious injury.
Brad Miller (illness) is back in the Mariners' Cactus League lineup on Monday.
Miller missed three games with a stomach virus. He'll be at shortstop for the M's on Opening Day.
Josmil Pinto (concussion) has been cleared for games.
Pinto was shut down for over a week with a concussion. He passed his ImPACT test on Monday morning and is expected to play in a minor league game Monday afternoon. The 25-year-old should be fine for Opening Day.
Braves reassigned RHP Michael Kohn to minor league camp.
Kohn walked eight batters in 8 1/3 innings this spring. He'll try to sort out his control issues at Triple-A.
Braves optioned RHP Arodys Vizcaino to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Vizcaino was acquired from the Cubs back in November for infielder Tommy La Stella but didn't pitch well enough this spring to earn an Opening Day roster spot. The 24-year-old right-hander allowed eight earned runs in eight Grapefruit League innings.
Carlos Villanueva has made the Cardinals' roster.
Villanueva will open the season in long relief, but he could be asked to handle some emergency spot starts if the St. Louis rotation is hit with more injuries. The versatile 31-year-old right-hander was signed to a minor league contract in early February.
Red Sox placed C Christian Vazquez on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow injury.
This feels like confirmation that Vazquez is going to need season-ending Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery. Boston acquired catcher Sandy Leon from the Nationals on Monday morning to back up Ryan Hanigan. And top prospect Blake Swihart may be put on the fast track.
Jake McGee (elbow) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Tuesday in Rays camp.
It'll be his fourth bullpen session of the spring. McGee underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow back in December and is expected to be on the disabled list for all of April. Brad Boxberger is looking like the fill-in closer in Tampa Bay.
