Ian Kennedy was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Brewers after getting hit in the leg by a line drive in the top of the third inning.

Kennedy held the Brewers scoreless in the first and second innings, but he was charged with four earned runs in an ugly third. Burch Smith took over in the top of the fourth. There should be a status update soon on Kennedy.

Jose Ramirez reached base four times in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs.

The Indians' offense didn't get much done in this one, but Ramirez and Bradley Zimmer both tallied three-hit games. After an awful first couple weeks while the Indians were battling freezing temperatures, Ramirez is now batting .413 with six home runs over his last 12 contests.

Tuesday night's game between the Pirates and Tigers has been postponed due to inclement weather in Pittsburgh.

Chad Kuhl was scheduled to face off against Jordan Zimmermann at PNC Park. They'll instead match up in the first half of a traditional doubleheader on Wednesday, with first pitch scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.

Martin Prado (knee) finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in his third rehab game Tuesday with High-A Jupiter.

Prado also played seven innings at third base. He should soon advance to Double-A Jacksonville or Triple-A New Orleans and could join the Marlins' active roster sometime in early May. The veteran third baseman underwent major surgery on his right knee last July and then suffered a setback at spring training, but he's had a couple positive weeks in a row.

J.T. Riddle (shoulder) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his rehab debut Tuesday with High-A Jupiter.

Riddle played five innings at shortstop. The 26-year-old underwent major surgery on his left shoulder last August and will likely need close to 40 minor league rehab at-bats. Look for him to join the Marlins around mid-May.

Marco Gonzales held the White Sox off the scoreboard for six-plus innings in Tuesday’s 1-0 victory.

In what was easily his best start of the season, Gonzales permitted just five hits and a walk while striking out eight. He was sent out for the seventh inning with a 1-0 lead but pulled after yielding a leadoff double to Yoan Moncada (the only extra-base hit he gave up). However, Dan Altavilla and Marc Rzepczynski put up the fire. Gonzales will try to keep the momentum going in Cleveland on Sunday.
Apr 24 - 8:18 PM

Making a spot start, Chris Volstad limited the Mariners to one run over 4 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss.

Volstad surrendered just three hits, with a Mitch Haniger RBI single in the fourth inning representing the M’s lone run. He didn’t walk anyone and struck out three. It’s as good of a start as the White Sox could’ve possibly expected from a guy who hadn’t made a start in nearly three weeks and who had made just two starts in the majors since 2013. Volstad has probably earned another start with Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) likely out a while.

Edwin Diaz nailed down a save with ease Tuesday, striking out a pair in a perfect frame versus the White Sox.

Diaz got Welington Castillo to ground out and then put down Matt Davidson and Yoan Moncada via the strikeout to close out a one-run victory. The flamethrower has given up just one run this season and has a whopping 21 strikeouts across 11 1/3 innings.
