Denard Span posted three singles with a pair of RBI across seven at-bats in Tuesday's victory against the visiting Rockies.

The veteran has come alive with three consecutive multi-hit outings, and he has hit safely in 12 of his past 14 games to raise his average from .253 to .287 just since June 13. He has collected two or more hits in eight of those outings to re-emerge as a solid fantasy option in some formats.
Jun 28 - 3:55 AM

Matt Cain allowed three earned runs, six hits and three walks with three strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Rockies.

Cain posted his first quality start in six outings dating back to May 26, but he still hasn't won since May 15. He'll look to get back into the win column in his next scheduled start Tuesday afternoon in Detroit before a second outing next week against Miami. As a two-start pitcher he might be worth streaming in NL-only play.

Ian Desmond finished with three singles and a walk in Tuesday's game in San Francisco.

Desmond is working on improving his average, pushing it from .265 to .282 just over the past three games. However, he continues to hit for a lack of power, as he is resembling the player he was in his first two-plus seasons rather than the guy who cracked 110 homers over the past five years. He missed the first month due to a fractured hand, and perhaps that issue is still bothering him somewhat although he is well enough to play.
Jun 28 - 3:48 AM

Mark Reynolds finished 2-for-6 with a double and a three-run home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss in 14 innings at San Francisco.

Reynolds is hitting .300 with 19 homers and 60 RBI through 74 games, putting him on pace for his second-career 40-homer season. He is also on target to smash his previous best of 102 RBI set in 2009 as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Reynolds is enjoying quite the resurgence in Denver this season and his production is a huge reason for the turnaround of the Rockies.
Jun 28 - 3:39 AM

Jeff Hoffman allowed two earned runs, six hits and three walks with six strikeouts across 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision Tuesday in San Francisco.

Hoffman threw 66 of his 97 pitches for strikes. While he was unable to pick up a win for the third consecutive outing, Hoffman was much better with his first quality start during the span. His next scheduled start is set for Monday against the Reds, and he'll make a second start in the upcoming week at home against the White Sox. It's looking like Hoffman could be quite the two-start sleeper next week.
Jun 28 - 3:35 AM

Ben Gamel (groin) was hitless in three at-bats with a walk and three strikeouts Tuesday against Philadelphia.

Gamel missed one game due to a sore groin and swollen lymph nodes. While he was back in action after a scheduled day off Monday, he certainly looked a bit off at the plate. Give him another game to prove his health before trusting him in the active fantasy lineup or in DFS play.
Jun 28 - 3:28 AM

Danny Valencia (wrist) finished 2-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Valencia missed the past two games due to a sore right wrist but he showed no ill effects of the injury, playing the entire game while handling duties at first base. It appears safe to plug him back into the active fantasy lineup if you normally depend upon him.
Jun 28 - 3:26 AM

Jean Segura finished 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's game against Philadelphia.

Segura's shot was all the Seattle offense could muster against Aaron Nola, who was masterful in a 113-pitch quality start. It was also his first homer - and just his second extra-base hit - in six outings since coming off the 10-day disabled list on June 21.
