Blue Jays optioned LHP Colt Hynes to Triple-A Buffalo.

Hynes struggled in his five appearances with the big club, posting a 6.00 ERA and 3.33 WHIP. He's replaced in the bullpen by Jeff Francis.

Mariners activated SS Chris Taylor from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Tacoma.

Taylor has already played seven rehab games after successfully rehabbing from surgery to repair a fracture in his right wrist. Brad Miller is penciled in as the Mariners' starting shortstop for now, but he's off to just a .229/.282/.429 start and might have to pick it up if he wants to avoid being replaced by Taylor at some point.

Marlins transferred RHP Jose Fernandez from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move cleared a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Matt Tracy. Fernandez will be out until June while working his way back from Tommy John surgery.

Royals recalled RHP Yohan Pino from Triple-A Omaha.

Pino was actually promoted on Saturday and tossed 4 2/3 scoreless relief innings after relieving Yordano Ventura following his ejection. It's possible the Royals will send him right back down since he won't be available to pitch for a few days.
Apr 19 - 9:23 AM

Yankees sent RHP Joel de la Cruz outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

He's now off the 40-man roster. De la Cruz didn't appear in a game during his brief time with the big club last week.

Angels activated RHP Garrett Richards from the 15-day disabled list.

Richards will make his season debut on Sunday in Houston after successfully rehabbing a torn patella tendon in his left knee. The right-hander wasn't great in his lone official rehab start, allowing five runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out five over five innings. Still, he's facing an Astros squad that swings and misses a lot, so we wouldn't blame fantasy owners for throwing him out there right away.

Mike Olt - 3B - Cubs

Mike Olt (wrist) said Saturday that he expects to need 3-4 weeks of rest before beginning rehab work.

Olt is sporting a cast after suffering a hairline fracture in his right wrist. Considering that it might be a month before he's allowed to begin rehabbing the wrist, it sounds like the chances are good that he'll be out until June. With Kris Bryant now up, Olt no longer has a clear path to playing time.
Apr 19 - 8:59 AM

Zack Greinke improved to 2-0 after allowing three runs over 6 2/3 innings against the Rockies on Saturday.

Greinke has a 1.83 ERA and an even more impressive 0.71 WHIP after three starts. With the Padres and Giants next on the schedule, he's a definite threat for NL pitcher of the month honors.
