Athletics manager Bob Melvin said that an MRI on Coco Crisp's neck showed "no changes."
It would qualify as good news, but Crisp will be held out of the lineup until at least Friday and it's not clear when he'll be ready to return. More will be known when the A's return home this weekend. Crisp has battled a neck issue off-and-on for much of the season.
Nick Castellanos was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to a right index finger contusion.
Castellanos suffered the injury when he was hit by a grounder during batting practice. He's listed as day-to-day. Miguel Cabrera will slide across the diamond to handle third base Tuesday, while Victor Martinez will be at first.
Michael Pineda (back) has been cleared to begin a rehab assignment after throwing a successful simulated game Tuesday.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi described Pineda during the sim game as "really good." It's not clear where he'll be assigned for his rehab assignment or what day it will begin, but it will come later this week. He'll throw 60-65 pitches and/or four innings in his first rehab start. Pineda is tracking towards a mid-August return if all goes well.
Rockies recalled INF Cristhian Adames from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Adames will give the Rockies some infield depth while Troy Tulowitzki (hip) is on the DL and Josh Rutledge battles an illness. The 23-year-old has hit .276/.332/.351 with two homers between Double- and Triple-A this season and will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.
Rockies activated LHP Boone Logan from the 15-day disabled list.
Logan missed the minimum amount of time with diverticulitis. He returns to a 6.11 ERA over 25 relief appearances.
Rockies optioned RHP Chad Bettis to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Bettis gave up nine runs over eight appearances during his latest stint with the big club. He has a nice arm, but the righty has yet to put it together at the major league level.
Rockies optioned RHP Brooks Brown to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Brown held a 7.56 ERA over nine relief appearances with the big club. He'll likely be back in September, if not before.
Rockies optioned 1B Ben Paulsen to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Paulsen had 10 hits in 22 at-bats while up with the Rockies, but he's no longer needed with Justin Morneau back from the DL. He'll be back later this season.
