NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Chiefs holdout S Eric Berry will report to the team next week.

Aug 26 - 9:38 AM

Coach Sean Payton described Brandon Coleman's training camp and preseason as "pedestrian."

Coleman isn't believed to be "totally safe" in terms of making the 53-man roster. He dropped a pass in last week's preseason game and almost lost a fumble. At 6'6/225, Coleman simply doesn't stand out for any of the right reasons. He's been tumbling down the depth chart since Michael Thomas arrived.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Larry Holder reports Coby Fleener "hasn't been reliable enough catching passes and isn't on the same page with Drew Brees."

According to Holder, it's resulted in No. 2 tight end Josh Hill seeing more work with the first-team offense this week. Fleener dropped too many balls in Indianapolis, as well, and it's possible the Saints were actually sending Fleener a message when they "accidentally" listed him with the fourth-stringers on last week's unofficial depth chart. We're not panicking, yet, but it's something to keep an eye on. Not being on the same page with Brees is the biggest concern.

Saints undrafted rookie WR Tommylee Lewis is expected to make the 53-man roster.

One source told Larry Holder of the New Orleans Time-Picayune that "there would be a mutiny" if Lewis didn't make the squad. The pint-sized -- 5'7/168 -- receiver out of Northern Illinois is expected to get some run with the first-team offense in the third preseason game against the Steelers.

Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official website reports Marvin Jones and Matthew Stafford have had "terrific chemistry" all through training camp.

Twentyman labels Jones the Lions' 1A receiver with Golden Tate the 1B. Jones has secured 5-of-6 targets this preseason for 81 yards and shredded his former Bengals teammates for some chunk gains and acrobatic grabs on the sideline last week. He continues to be a strong mid-round fantasy pick.

Rookie RB Darius Jackson rushed five times for 30 yards in the Cowboys' third preseason game, adding one reception for nine yards.

Through three preseason contests, Dallas' sixth-round pick has 120 yards on 31 carries (3.87 YPC) and two catches for 24 yards. Jackson should get one more long look in the preseason finale before the Cowboys decide whether to keep him on the 53. Jackson's chances will rise if Darren McFadden stays on reserve/NFI, though the Cowboys could wind up keeping only three backs if Lance Dunbar (knee) is truly healthy behind Zeke Elliott and Alfred Morris.

Seahawks RB Alex Collins rushed three times for 19 yards in Thursday's preseason game.

The fifth-rounder was buried deep on the depth chart, getting run behind someone named George Farmer. It's a clear indication he's on the roster bubble. Collins has taken the rock 12 times for 37 yards (3.08 YPC) thus far this preseason. He should get an extended look in the finale.
Aug 26 - 1:04 AM

C.J. Prosise rushed four times for 23 yards in his preseason debut Thursday night.

Although he didn't quite stuff the stat sheet, this was a big step forward for Prosise after an injury-plagued spring and beginning to camp. He worked as the Seahawks' first-team third-down back behind Christine Michael, and also mixed in on some second-and-long plays. Neither Michael nor Thomas Rawls is adept in the passing game, so Prosise could have a Week 1 role. Prosise should be owned in all Dynasty leagues and belongs on re-draft watch lists.
