Avisail Garcia (hamstring) is not expected to be ready to play by Tuesday.

Garcia tweaked his hamstring on Friday and is sitting out his second straight game Sunday. It appears he won't be ready after Monday's off day, either, although there hasn't been talk of a disabled list stint yet. Jerry Sands will handle the designated hitter duties while Garcia is out.

The Brewers will recall Junior Guerra on Tuesday to make his first major league start against the Angels.

A waiver claim from the White Sox last October, Guerra is a former infielder and reliever who turned 31 in January. He's put up a 4.63 ERA and 23/9 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings for Triple-A Colorado Springs this season. The right-hander is a wild card but could potentially be an interesting gamble in deeper leagues.

David Freese is not in the Pirates' lineup Sunday.

He's just getting a day off. Sean Rodriguez is filling in at third base, while Josh Harrison has moved up to the No. 3 spot. Francisco Cervelli is also receiving a breather, as Chris Stewart is catching.

Due to a rule technicality, Emilio Bonifacio has not had his contract purchased by the Braves yet.

The Braves had already announced the move but had to rescind it. It's unclear when Bonifacio will be eligible for activation. Chris Withrow was optioned and has already left the club, so it appears Atlanta will play a man short Sunday.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Sunday that he's not naming a closer while Zach Britton (ankle) is sidelined.

It's not surprising with it looking like Britton will only be out a few days. Darren O'Day is probably first in line for saves while Britton is out, but Brad Brach and Mychal Givens are also possibilities.

Kris Bryant (ankle) is back in the Cubs' lineup Sunday.

Bryant didn't play Friday and wasn't in Saturday's lineup before the game was rained out after spraining his right ankle Thursday. He's feeling better now, though, and is in left field and batting third Sunday. The Cubs have Tommy La Stella at third base and Jorge Soler on the bench.
May 1 - 11:40 AM

Matt Wieters is not in the Orioles' lineup Sunday.

Wieters started at catcher in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday for the first time this season, but he's back on the bench in this one. Caleb Joseph is behind the plate.

Reds transferred C Kyle Skipworth from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Tim Adleman. Skipworth is still rehabbing from ankle surgery.
